Nikos Voutsis spoke about Alexis Tsipras‘s new political venture.
Nikos Voutsis, who now belongs to the New Left, made it clear that the manifesto of ideas and what Alexis Tsipras now says do not express him. Besides, he belongs to the New Left trend that will not follow the former prime minister.
According to the former speaker of the parliament and former minister in Alexis Tsipras’s government, the former prime minister’s rhetoric about the ruling Left underestimates the movements and the Left itself. Apparently Alexis Tsipras wants to prove that he is the only one who can lead the Left back to power.
Opposed to affiliations
Nikos Voutsis among others sent messages to the members of the New Left and to his former comrades in Syriza who want to follow Alexis Tsipras.
And he said something very simple: Why do they want to follow Alexis Tsipras so badly, if he hasn’t invited them to the new party? And especially when the former prime minister stresses in every way that he wants to go with new faces?
Obviously most of the cadres are interested in their political survival and Alexis Tsipras in votes, so he’s going to put water on the wagon for many of them. Yet here Nikos Voutsis is pointing out the political unworthiness of those who sat on the sidelines and continue to beg Alexis Tsipras.
The references by Nikos Voutsis are not just coincidental, as a week of rapid developments is expected, with many Syriza executives again declaring their support for the former prime minister.
Following post with his interview:
