Press spokesman <strong>Kostas Tsoukalas<\/strong> argued that only anyone who &#8220;cancels the party&#8217;s strategy&#8221; is out of line, insisting that Dukas did no such thing.<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, a new debate was sparked by Nikos Papandreou&#8217;s statements, who advocated an <strong>autonomous course<\/strong> in the elections, while leaving all possibilities open for the next day. He said the election result will determine developments and no scenario can be ruled out.<\/p>\n<h3><b>New messages of discipline in every direction, with threats of expulsion<\/b><\/h3>\n<p>Other party officials also took the same line of strict party discipline. <strong>Tonia Antoniou<\/strong>, a member of the Executive Council, stressed that there may be different approaches, but everyone is bound by the decisions of the congress, which define <strong>New Democracy<\/strong> as the main political opponent.<\/p>\n<p>Andreas Spyropoulos<\/strong>, a member of the Political Council, stressed that cadres cannot position themselves differently from what has been collectively decided, while MP Michalis Katrinis recommended greater caution and restraint in public interventions.<\/p>\n<p>With intra-party divergences causing constant headaches in Charilaou Trikoupis, the leadership seems to be investing more in <strong>discipline<\/strong> than in pluralism, considering that the image of unity is a prerequisite for the recovery of the party&#8217;s ratings.
