In the New Democracy, following the election of Kyranakis, preparations for the of 2027, announcing new candidacies and gradually finalizing the candidate lists nationwide<\/p>\n

The New Democracy<\/strong> is stepping up its pre-election preparations, despite the fact that the next national elections<\/strong> are expected in 2027. A few hours after the election of Konstantinos Kyranakis<\/strong> as party secretary, Piraeus<\/strong> announced three more candidates, while planning continues for the composition of the party\u2019s electoral lists across the country.<\/p>\n

Non-parliamentary ministers first on the New Democracy candidate lists<\/h3>\n

The party leadership\u2019s goal is to prioritize finalizing the candidacies of non-parliamentary ministers and deputy ministers<\/strong>, as well as MPs from the National List<\/b>, former MEPs<\/strong>, as well as officials from the Maximos Mansion<\/strong> and Piraeus<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In this context, it was announced that the Minister of Digital Governance, Dimitris Papastergiou<\/strong>, will be a candidate in Trikala<\/strong>, the Deputy Minister of Education, Nikos Papaioannou<\/strong>, in A\u2019 Thessaloniki<\/strong> and New Democracy spokesperson Alexandra Sdoukou<\/strong> in Athens A<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Thessaloniki A – Names under consideration<\/h3>\n

According to reports, the possibility of running in Thessaloniki A<\/strong> is also being considered by the Deputy Minister of Infrastructure, Nikos Tachiaos<\/strong>. In contrast, the Member of Parliament for the State Nefeli Hatzioannidou<\/strong>, who resides in Thessaloniki, does not appear at this stage to be entering the race.<\/p>\n

National Assembly member Giorgos Stamatis<\/strong> is heading to Corinth<\/strong>, following the loss of Nikos Tagaras<\/strong>, while fellow Member of Parliament for the State Ioanna Lytrivi<\/strong> is strongly rumored to be heading to Western Attica<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Athens A – The new additions<\/h3>\n

The spokesperson for the Ministry of Finance, Omiros Tsapalos<\/strong>, although he had been mentioned for Corinth, is expected to run again in Athens A<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The candidacy of former MEP Stelios Kympouropoulos<\/strong> is also being discussed in the same electoral district. Although his name had been linked to the Southern Athens Sector<\/strong>, reports suggest he is ultimately heading toward Athens A.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the New Democracy spokesperson for regional media Elena Sokou<\/strong> is expected to run in Evros<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Piraeus is ramping up its election campaign<\/h3>\n

Earlier this year, the candidacies of the coordinator of the Prime Minister\u2019s office in Thessaloniki Yiannis Papageorgiou<\/strong> in Thessaloniki A\u2019 Thessaloniki<\/strong>, the candidacy of the Deputy Minister of Health, Marios Themistokleous<\/strong>, in Eastern Attica<\/strong>, the former Secretary General of Research, Tassos Gaitanis<\/strong>, in the Southern Sector<\/strong>, the former Secretary of Public Property Athanasios Tsoukas<\/strong> in Thessaloniki A, the former Secretary of Migration Policy Manos Logothetis<\/strong> in Samos<\/strong> and the former secretary for Asylum Seeker Reception, Dimitris Glymis<\/strong>, in Fokida<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Piraeus<\/strong> has already fully activated its election machinery, with continuous campaign tours<\/strong> throughout the country. It kicks off on Saturday in Rhodes<\/strong> with Kyriakos Mitsotakis, while at the same time top party officials are moving forward with planning and finalizing the candidate lists ahead of the 2027 election.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
