{"id":10371,"date":"2026-06-12T12:56:00","date_gmt":"2026-06-12T09:56:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.tomanifesto.gr\/?p=10371"},"modified":"2026-06-12T12:56:00","modified_gmt":"2026-06-12T09:56:00","slug":"opposition-to-the-status-quo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/en.tomanifesto.gr\/?p=10371","title":{"rendered":"Opposition to the status quo"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Whether you like <b>Kyriakos Mitsotakis  <\/b>or not, after yesterday\u2019s interview with<b> Nikos Hatzinikolaou<\/b>, I think everyone can agree on one thing: today there does not seem to be any other<b> political force or figure <\/b>who can govern the country the day after the <b>elections<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p>Calm, level-headed, knowledgeable about the issues, and with a clear plan, the <b>Prime Minister <\/b>projected the image of a politician who knows exactly where the country stands and where he wants to lead it. Above all, however, he conveyed what citizens are seeking in a time of international uncertainty: <b>stability<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, a segment of public opinion is showing interest in <b>new parties and new political<\/b> <b>formations<\/b>. This is entirely legitimate. However, to date we have not seen any serious and<b> costed program <\/b>for governance. We hear slogans, general declarations, and easy promises, but when it comes time for <b>numbers <\/b>and implementation, the answers are usually missing.<\/p>\n<p>It is not uncommon for <b>opposition <\/b>leaders to appear on television panels, present <b>proposals <\/b>and, when asked how they will be implemented and what the <b>cost <\/b>will be, fail to provide specific <b>answers<\/b>. They are more reminiscent of <b>mood<\/b>: I\u2019ll take a <b>shot in the dark <\/b>and see what happens, rather than political seriousness.<\/p>\n<p>But the country needs <b>seriousness<\/b>, as well as a plan and stability.
