{"id":10413,"date":"2026-06-12T15:38:00","date_gmt":"2026-06-12T12:38:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.tomanifesto.gr\/?p=10413"},"modified":"2026-06-12T15:38:00","modified_gmt":"2026-06-12T12:38:00","slug":"nikos-avramidis-on-the-city-of-athens-loan-schools-are-just-a-pretext-haris-doukas-is-exposed-video","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/en.tomanifesto.gr\/?p=10413","title":{"rendered":"Nikos Avramidis on the City of Athens loan: Schools are just a pretext; Haris Doukas is exposed (video)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-start=\"189\" data-end=\"497\">     <strong data-start=\"191\" data-end=\"210\">Nikos Avramidis<\/strong>, city councilor of Athens with the <strong data-start=\"257\" data-end=\"273\">&#8220;Athens Up&#8221;<\/strong> led by Kostas Bakogiannis, questioned the advisability of the loan<b> of 75 million euros<\/b> by the Municipality of Athens, arguing that no studies, <strong data-start=\"433\" data-end=\"443\">plans<\/strong> or a list of the <strong data-start=\"458\" data-end=\"473\">30 schools<\/strong> to be funded. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"499\" data-end=\"760\">     Speaking on the program <em data-start=\"521\" data-end=\"530\"><em data-start=\"522\" data-end=\"528\">\u201cHERE<\/em>\u201d<\/em>* with Stamatis Zacharos, Avramidis stated that the municipal faction formally requested the city council to be informed about exactly where the funds from the <strong data-start=\"702\" data-end=\"713\">loan<\/strong>, without, as he said, receiving clear answers. <\/p>\n<h3>     Avramidis attacks Doukas: We haven\u2019t seen any studies or a list of schools <\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"762\" data-end=\"1008\">     \u201c<strong data-start=\"763\" data-end=\"779\">We haven\u2019t seen any studies<\/strong>, nor have we seen any plans; we don\u2019t even have the <strong data-start=\"834\" data-end=\"859\">list of the 30 schools<\/strong> for which this money will be spent. We formally requested it yesterday at the city council meeting, asking them to tell us exactly where it will go,\u201d he stated emphatically. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1010\" data-end=\"1305\">     According to him, the response the faction received was that <strong data-start=\"1086\" data-end=\"1101\">preliminary studies<\/strong> would be prepared, with Stamatis Zacharos sarcastically remarking that this could take even many years. \u201cSo, let Haris Doukas answer us: why did he take out this loan?\u201d the city councilor asked. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1307\" data-end=\"1567\">     Responding to a question about whether the funds could be used for purposes other than those announced for the schools, Avramidis argued that this is feasible, since\u2014as he said\u2014the scope of the loan generally concerns <strong data-start=\"1539\" data-end=\"1566\">energy interventions<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1569\" data-end=\"1839\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">     \u201cThe answer is that we can deal with anything related to energy. Photovoltaics, the construction of a new building, a new <strong data-start=\"1704\" data-end=\"1723\">garbage truck<\/strong>, are energy-related.
