\u201cWe must all work together to combat<\/b> violence<\/b>. Whether it is violence <\/b>within the home or violence in the streets<\/b> involving children, the minors, and here lies the responsibility of the family, of the parents. The laws have become stricter primarily for parents who exercise custody <\/b>and where there are delinquent children<\/b>, all together\u2014local communities, municipalities<\/b>, social services, and schools\u2014must be there for<\/b> the children to prevent a delinquent child from becoming a criminal threat to society tomorrow or the day after,\u201d he stated emphatically.<\/p>\n
According to Mr. Chrysochoidis, there has been a decrease in reports of domestic violence <\/b> by approximately 17%, however, arrests remain at high levels<\/b> (over 3,500 nationwide this year<\/b>). \u201cThere are still people who abuse their wives, their partners, their children\u2026 The law is very strict, very effective.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThe state\u2019s goal is to eliminate violence against women<\/b>,\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n
Regarding road safety, <\/b>the Minister announced stricter measures to enforce the new Highway Code<\/b> with the installation of traffic cameras by 2027.<\/p>\n
