Pride: from yoga and activities to combat stereotypes to the big evening concert"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>     The center of Athens is filled today (6\/13) with colors, music, and slogans, as <strong>Athens Pride 2026<\/strong> reaches its climax with the traditional <strong>Pride Parade<\/strong> and a series of events at Syntagma. <\/p>\n<p>     <b>     These events begin at 12:00 noon <\/b>and will continue late into the night with discussions, performances, DJ sets, and concerts. <b>The march will begin at 7:00 PM, <\/b>followed immediately by a major music program featuring well-known artists and figures from the queer scene. <\/p>\n<p>     The organizers are sending a clear message about the rights and visibility of LGBTQI+ individuals, at a time when\u2014as they point out\u2014trans, non-binary, and intersex people continue to face exclusion and social discrimination. <\/p>\n<p>     \u201c<strong>Our rights are non-negotiable<\/strong>\u201d is the main slogan of this year\u2019s event. <\/p>\n<figure>\n<div class=\"embed-responsive\">  <\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<h3>     <strong>Athens Pride: Activities and events starting at noon<\/strong> <\/h3>\n<p>     Starting early in the morning, organization booths will be open in Syntagma Square, while the music will be provided by DJs <strong>Tseali<\/strong> and <strong>Siria<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<p>     The program includes interactive activities such as \u201cTake-Give,\u201d where participants will exchange messages of support and love via Post-it notes, as well as \u201cSmash the Stereotypes,\u201d aimed at breaking down stereotypes and prejudices. <\/p>\n<p>     For parents and children, there will be the activity \u201cYoga with a Twist\u201d with <strong>Penny Limnaou<\/strong> and <strong>Chara Karipidou<\/strong>, and there will also be a specially designed rainbow photo area. <\/p>\n<p>     <b>     At 4:00 p.m. <\/b>the afternoon events will begin, featuring a program by <b>\u201cYoga and Sport for Refugees\u201d <\/b>and an open discussion by the initiative<b> \u201cJail the Murderers of Zaki-O\u201d<\/b> on the topic \u201cLet\u2019s Build a Society of Liberation.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>     At the same time, <b>until 9:00 PM<\/b> a special meet-and-greet space <b>will be open for people attending Pride alone, with the aim of helping them make new connections and find friends. <\/p>\n<p>     Shortly before the march begins, at <b>6:00 PM, <\/b>the 25-member brass band <strong>Agia Fanfara<\/strong> will perform at Syntagma Square. <\/p>\n<h3>     <strong>The Pride Parade and the big concert<\/strong> <\/h3>\n<p>     The program will begin at <b>5:00 PM<\/b> with instructors from <strong>Zumba Greece<\/strong>, followed by greetings from LGBTQI+ community organizations and a live performance by <strong>Konikos<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<p>     Stand-up comedian <strong>Aris Psiliakos<\/strong> will host the afternoon program. <\/p>\n<p>     The <b>pre-gathering <\/b>of groups and organizations will take place at <b>6:00 p.m. <\/b>in front of the Parliament <\/b>, and one hour later the <strong>Pride Parade<\/strong> will officially begin, with the unfurling of a 30-meter-long rainbow flag. <\/p>\n<p>     Collectives, organizations, and floats will participate in the march, while <strong>Batala<\/strong>, <strong>Kilombo<\/strong>, and <strong>Dansawe<\/strong> will set the beat. <\/p>\n<p>     Those who remain in Syntagma Square during the march will enjoy DJ sets by <strong>Ate<\/strong> and <strong>Salin<\/strong> until the participants return. <\/p>\n<p>     The evening event will be hosted by <strong>Andromeda Bolos<\/strong> and <strong>Christina Voulgari<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<p>     Performing on the <strong>Athens Pride 2026<\/strong> stage will be <strong>Black Unit<\/strong>, <strong>Dimitris Samolis<\/strong>, <strong>Mitch T<\/strong>, <strong>Nasty Hiloudaki<\/strong>, <strong>Chryseida Gagouti<\/strong>, <strong>Fotis Lamaris<\/strong>, and <strong>Matoula Zamani<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<p>     The program will include live music, performances, and a surprise guest appearance to be announced during the evening.
