George Tsipras<\/b> harshly criticized the latest developments in SYRIZA<\/b> and appeared to distance himself from Alexis Tsipras<\/b> and ELAS<\/b>.<\/p>\n

Specifically, on Open TV, George Tsipras<\/b> appeared opposed to the dissolution of SYRIZA<\/b> in order to join ELAS<\/b>, saying that the party had committed political suicide in this way, thereby validating the positions of Pavlos Polakis <\/b> and Nikos Pappas<\/b>. In fact, he continued his criticism of SYRIZA<\/b>, saying that now only its\u2026 corpse will remain.<\/p>\n

The most interesting thing, however, is that he also blamed the leadership of Alexis Tsipras<\/b> for the dissolution of SYRIZA<\/b>, saying that the party\u2019s degeneration began during the former prime minister\u2019s presidency. According to him, SYRIZA<\/b> as a government could have done 10 things but did only one, and at some point it was \u201cevery man for himself.\u201d<\/p>\n

Criticism of Alexis Tsipras <\/h3>\n

In fact, the former prime minister\u2019s cousin did not hold back in his criticism of Alexis Tsipras<\/b>. Initially, he clearly distanced himself from the Hellenic Police<\/b>, saying that he doesn\u2019t belong anywhere and that nothing represents him at this moment.<\/p>\n

Continuing his attack on Alexis Tsipras<\/b>, he stated that the interest being shown in the former prime minister\u2019s new venture ahead of the elections is due more to the \u201cfragility\u201d of the rest of the center-left rather than any political \u201crebirth.\u201d In fact, when asked whether Alexis Tsipras<\/b> is returning a changed man, George Tsipras<\/b> avoided giving a clear answer: \u201cI don\u2019t know if this Tsipras<\/b> is a different person,\u201d he said, adding pointedly that \u201cin politics, there is no such thing as a political \u2018virgin birth.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

There was no self-criticism <\/h3>\n

He himself emphasized that there is indeed a void on the Left and that this helps Alexis Tsipras<\/b> but he does not believe he can appeal to a broader audience than the one that voted for him in 2023. Moreover, he explained that the former prime minister and his leadership team avoid making a substantive assessment of their actions and mistakes.<\/p>\n

Finally, he insisted that he will not support ELAS<\/b>, stating that he does not support any party and wants to support a truly progressive front against the Right.\u00a0<\/p>\n

It appears that George Tsipras<\/b> is dissatisfied with his cousin. Perhaps, as the former financial director of the Prime Minister\u2019s office during the SYRIZA<\/b> government, he knows a little more about who Alexis Tsipras is and what happened during that period.<\/p>\n
