The U.S. <\/strong> and Iran<\/strong> are, according to Donald Trump, one step away from signing a memorandum of understanding that could change the landscape in the Middle East.<\/p>\n

The U.S. president said the agreement is expected to be signed today, Sunday (6\/14) via an electronic process and remote communication, as reported by Axios. <\/p>\n

At the heart of this agreement is the 60-day extension of the ceasefire<\/strong>, the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz<\/strong>, and the resumption of talks on the Iranian nuclear program<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

However, there has been no official confirmation so far from Tehran<\/strong> that the signing will take place today. <\/p>\n

The Fars<\/strong> news agency, which is linked to the Revolutionary Guards<\/strong>, claimed that negotiations have not yet been concluded and that there is no definitive timeline for signing an agreement. <\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps<\/strong> spoke of \u201cunusual persistence\u201d on Trump\u2019s part, noting that the final framework of the agreement \u201chas not yet been finalized.\u201d <\/p>\n

Iran: Reactions in Tehran to Abbas Araghchi <\/h2>\n

The atmosphere within Iran remains tense, as a segment of the population opposes a potential rapprochement with the U.S.<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

A video released by the Fars<\/strong> news agency shows protesters in the city of Mashhad<\/strong> chanting slogans against Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

Specifically, dozens of citizens gathered outside the Foreign Ministry building demanding his resignation, believing that the agreement currently being negotiated constitutes a concession to Washington. <\/p>\n

\u201cDeath to the dishonest Araghchi,\u201d shouted women dressed in black chadors, holding flags, according to footage broadcast by Iranian media. <\/p>\n

A few hours earlier, the Iranian foreign minister had appeared optimistic on state television regarding the progress of talks with the United States. <\/p>\n

\u201cAlarm\u201d in Israel <\/h2>\n

At the same time, the possibility of an agreement is causing intense irritation in Israel<\/strong>.In fact, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu<\/strong> convened an emergency security cabinet meeting for Sunday evening, to discuss the terms of the memorandum under negotiation between Washington and Tehran. <\/p>\n

According to Israeli media, top officials are expressing fears that U.S. concessions to Iran directly affect Israel\u2019s security interests. <\/p>\n

A Channel 12 report states that Washington has reportedly accepted \u201ckey terms\u201d from the Iranian side. <\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the leader of the Israeli opposition, Yair Lapid<\/strong>, launched a scathing attack against Netanyahu. <\/p>\n

As he wrote in a post on Platform X, the agreement constitutes a \u201ccomplete failure\u201d of the government and \u201cturns Israel into a protectorate that takes orders regarding its national security.\u201d <\/p>\n

He further argued that through the agreement \u201cthe Tehran regime survives, the Iranian missile program continues, and Iran can revive its nuclear program.\u201d <\/p>\n

Criticism also came from Democrats in the U.S. <\/h2>\n

Strong reactions are also being reported within the United States<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

Democratic Senator Adam Schiff<\/strong> commented that \u201cwe\u2019ve heard this before. Along with a string of broken promises.\u201d <\/p>\n

At the same time, he accused Trump of \u201cstarting new wars, but not reducing the cost,\u201d adding that this \u201chas deeply harmed the American people.\u201d <\/p>\n

Representative Seth Moulton<\/strong> was even more aggressive, describing the potential deal as \u201cessentially a surrender document.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a terrible deal! It is essentially a surrender document from Donald Trump to Iran\u2019s supreme leader,\u201d he stated emphatically. <\/p>\n
