The New Democracy<\/strong> is undergoing an internal reorganization, seeking to renew the party apparatus and strengthen control over its organizations nationwide. <\/p>\n

At the meeting of the new Political Committee<\/strong>, held under Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, the new Executive Secretariat<\/strong> was elected, while significant changes to the National Organization Regulations were also approved. <\/p>\n

During the meeting, Konstantinos Kyranakis<\/strong> was unanimously elected as the new secretary of the Political Committee, and the new Executive Secretariat<\/strong> of the New Democracy party was formed. <\/p>\n

Who was elected to the new Executive Secretariat <\/h3>\n

In the Political Committee vote, four parliamentary and four non-parliamentary members were elected, who, together with the ex officio members, form the new party body. <\/p>\n

The parliamentary members are: <\/p>\n

  • Stavros Papasotiriou<\/strong><\/li>\n

    The following were elected as non-parliamentary members: <\/p>\n

    • Panagiotis Palpanas<\/strong><\/li>\n
    • Christina Patrikakou<\/strong><\/li>\n
    • George Tsakoumis<\/strong><\/li>\n
    • Konstantinos Tsiangliotis<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      The Executive Secretariat also includes, as ex officio members, the president of New Democracy Kyriakos Mitsotakis<\/strong>, the vice-presidents Kostis Hatzidakis<\/strong> and Adonis Georgiadis<\/strong>, the secretary of the Political Committee Konstantinos Kyranakis<\/strong>, the General Secretary of the Parliamentary Group Maximos Harakopoulos<\/strong>, the General Director Yannis Smyrlis<\/strong>, the parliamentary spokesperson Dimitris Kairidis<\/strong> and the president of ONNED Orpheas Georgiou<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

      Changes to the regulations and mergers of organizations <\/h3>\n

      The Political Committee also approved amendments to the Regulations of the Pan-Hellenic Organization<\/, emphasizing the restructuring of the party apparatus and the improved functioning of organizations throughout the country. <\/p>\n

      Among other things, the creation of Regional Coordinating Bodies<\/strong> is planned, to ensure more direct oversight and coordination at the regional level. <\/p>\n

      At the same time, it was decided to merge the DIM.TO.<\/strong> operating in the capitals of the Regional Units with the corresponding D.E.E.P.<\/strong>, with the exception of the Attica Region and the Regional or Metropolitan Unit of Thessaloniki. The change will take effect starting with the next internal party elections. <\/p>\n

      The amendments also include the abolition of incompatibilities and disqualifications for eligibility for elected officials of Local Government A\u2019 and second-level local government who wish to participate in the elected bodies of DEEP<\/strong> and DIMTO<\/strong>. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
