{"id":10768,"date":"2026-06-15T11:07:00","date_gmt":"2026-06-15T08:07:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.tomanifesto.gr\/?p=10768"},"modified":"2026-06-15T11:07:00","modified_gmt":"2026-06-15T08:07:00","slug":"christina-alexopoulou-on-migration-greece-is-no-longer-an-easy-route-video","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/en.tomanifesto.gr\/?p=10768","title":{"rendered":"Christina Alexopoulou on migration: Greece is no longer an easy route (video)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-start=\"55\" data-end=\"213\">     Christina Alexopoulou argued that migrant flows have decreased, controls have been tightened, and Greece is no longer an easy transit route. <\/p>\n<h3 data-section-id=\"1gbxcq4\" data-start=\"215\" data-end=\"278\">     Christina Alexopoulou: The rules favor Greek citizens <\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"280\" data-end=\"474\">     The view that <strong data-start=\"295\" data-end=\"313\">immigration<\/strong> is a constantly changing and dynamic issue was expressed by New Democracy MP<b> <\/b>in Achaea<b>, Christina Alexopoulou<\/b>, speaking on OPEN\u2019s \u201cTora Mazi\u201d program. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"476\" data-end=\"674\">     Ms. <strong data-start=\"481\" data-end=\"496\">Alexopoulou<\/strong> emphasized that the current situation bears no resemblance to the <strong data-start=\"551\" data-end=\"559\">2019<\/strong>, noting that <strong data-start=\"584\" data-end=\"608\">migrant flows<\/strong> are now significantly lower compared to previous years. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"676\" data-end=\"876\">     At the same time, he noted that people who are not entitled to remain in the country are not left unchecked, pointing out that the <strong data-start=\"812\" data-end=\"823\">rules<\/strong> that are enforced are in favor of <strong data-start=\"856\" data-end=\"875\">Greek citizens<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"878\" data-end=\"1015\">     \u201c<strong data-start=\"879\" data-end=\"911\">No illegal immigrant<\/strong> can roam freely in our country at the expense of Greek citizens,\u201d he stated emphatically. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1017\" data-end=\"1206\">     The <strong data-start=\"1033\" data-end=\"1053\">New Democracy<\/strong> MP also argued that <strong data-start=\"1077\" data-end=\"1087\">Greece<\/strong> is no longer considered an easy transit country for <b>illegal <\/b>migrants, as was the case in the past. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1208\" data-end=\"1417\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">     As he noted, while the prevailing attitude used to be \u201ccome on, let\u2019s get them through Greece,\u201d today the picture has changed, with the message being that \u201c<strong data-start=\"1378\" data-end=\"1415\">things have gotten difficult there<\/strong>.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"el\" dir=\"ltr\">Alexopoulou: \u201cThe issue of migration is completely dynamic; nothing resembles 2019.
