The Donald Trump<\/b> yesterday (Thursday) called the US-Israeli attack on Iran a “small detour” that was nonetheless “needed” for the US.<\/p>\n
During an event in Las Vegas, where he went to champion the measure to repeal the tax on tips, the US president exceeded his economic accomplishments since taking office in January 2025.<\/b><\/p>\n
He asserted that the economy is doing great, “despite the little detour to this lovely country called Iran, but we had to do it, because otherwise very bad things could happen, real bad things,”<\/b> the Republican said, apparently implying the acquisition nuclear weapons that he said the Islamic Republic was seeking.<\/p>\n
Poll by the Ipsos Institute<\/b> conducted from April 10 to 12 with a sample of more than 1.000 Americans showed that 51% of respondents feel that the military operation against Iran was not “worth it”,<\/b> given the costs. Just 24% expressed the opposite view.<\/p>\n
While a poll by Quinnipiac University<\/b>, which was released the day before Wednesday, showed that 65% of the sample holds Donald Trump responsible for the recent rise in fuel prices in the country.<\/p>\n
According to the same survey, just 36 percent of the sample approve of the way President Trump has handled the “situation” with Iran, while 58 percent disapprove of him.<\/p>\n
