{"id":10838,"date":"2026-06-15T15:04:00","date_gmt":"2026-06-15T12:04:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.tomanifesto.gr\/?p=10838"},"modified":"2026-06-15T15:04:00","modified_gmt":"2026-06-15T12:04:00","slug":"nikos-hardalias-from-peristeri-major-projects-are-in-full-swing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/en.tomanifesto.gr\/?p=10838","title":{"rendered":"Nikos Hardalias from Peristeri: Major projects are in full swing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-start=\"250\" data-end=\"383\">Nikos Chardalias visited Peristeri, where he toured the new Arts Center and confirmed the progress of major infrastructure projects.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"385\" data-end=\"690\">The Regional Governor of Attica Nikos Hardalias visited <strong data-start=\"445\" data-end=\"458\">Peristeri<\/strong>, where he met with the  <strong data-start=\"492\" data-end=\"514\">Andreas Pahatouridis<\/strong> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/tomanifesto.gr\/peristeri\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Metropolitan<b> of Peristeri, Gregory<\/b>, was briefed on the projects currently underway and conducted an on-site inspection of the <strong data-start=\"656\" data-end=\"689\">West Attica Arts Center<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"692\" data-end=\"978\">The visit is part of the regional governor\u2019s series of meetings with the <strong data-start=\"758\" data-end=\"783\">66 municipalities of Attica<\/strong>, as part of an effort to communicate directly with local communities and identify their needs, with the aim of further upgrading <strong data-start=\"929\" data-end=\"941\">infrastructure<\/strong> and the functionality of cities.<\/p>\n<h3 data-section-id=\"15tooyy\" data-start=\"980\" data-end=\"1036\">Cooperation between the Municipality and the Region, with the aim of accelerating projects<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1038\" data-end=\"1425\">During the meeting with Mayor <strong data-start=\"1071\" data-end=\"1093\">Andreas Pahatouridis<\/strong>, ways to accelerate the implementation of projects, the effective utilization of available <strong data-start=\"1198\" data-end=\"1207\">resources<\/strong>, and the coordination of the involved agencies, so that the interventions are completed within the planned <strong data-start=\"1313\" data-end=\"1334\">timelines<\/strong>. At the same time, a series of new projects planned for the near future were also reviewed.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1427\" data-end=\"1784\">Subsequently, Mr. Hardalias visited the <strong data-start=\"1471\" data-end=\"1496\">Metropolis of Peristeri<\/strong>, where he was given a tour of the premises of the building under construction by Metropolitan <strong data-start=\"1572\" data-end=\"1587\">Gregorios<\/strong>. During their meeting, the close cooperation between the <strong data-start=\"1652\" data-end=\"1666\">Metropolis<\/strong>, the <strong data-start=\"1668\" data-end=\"1683\">Regional Authority<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"1688\" data-end=\"1697\">Municipality<\/strong>, with an emphasis on strengthening social initiatives to support vulnerable social groups.<\/p>\n<h3 data-section-id=\"r2944g\" data-start=\"1786\" data-end=\"1837\">Arts Center &#8211; To be completed by the end of the year<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1839\" data-end=\"2186\">The visit concluded with an on-site inspection of the construction site for the new <strong data-start=\"1897\" data-end=\"1931\">West Attica Arts Center<\/strong>, with a total area of <strong data-start=\"1954\" data-end=\"1968\">3,886 sq. m.<\/strong>, which is expected to become a cultural landmark in Western Athens. According to the update, work is proceeding on schedule, and the project is expected to be delivered by the <strong data-start=\"2167\" data-end=\"2185\">end of 2026<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2188\" data-end=\"2461\">The project is being built on the site of the former <strong data-start=\"2268\" data-end=\"2284\">\u201cXylotechnia\u201d<\/strong> and includes a modern <strong data-start=\"2315\" data-end=\"2336\">280-seat theater<\/strong>, designed to host theatrical performances, conferences, workshops, exhibitions, and cultural or social events.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2463\" data-end=\"2888\">The facilities will include a <strong data-start=\"2501\" data-end=\"2512\">lobby<\/strong>, an information desk and ticket office, a coat check, a refreshment area, modern restrooms, a fully equipped stage, a plaza and a balcony, loading and unloading areas and storage for stage sets, dressing rooms, a dedicated lighting and sound control room, as well as <strong data-start=\"2768\" data-end=\"2797\">underground parking garage<\/strong>. At the same time, plans call for the preservation of existing buildings that house municipal services.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2890\" data-end=\"3182\">The <strong data-start=\"2892\" data-end=\"2910\">budget<\/strong> for the project amounts to <strong data-start=\"2934\" data-end=\"2954\">12.07 million euros<\/strong>. It is part of the <strong data-start=\"2976\" data-end=\"3030\">Attica Regional Development Program 2021-2025<\/strong> and is funded by the national component of the <strong data-start=\"3076\" data-end=\"3125\">Public Investment Development Program<\/strong>, with the Municipality of Peristeri as the beneficiary and lead partner of the project.<\/p>\n<h3 data-section-id=\"cm318j\" data-start=\"3184\" data-end=\"3240\">Chardalias: Focus on infrastructure in working-class neighborhoods<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"3242\" data-end=\"3500\">In his remarks, <strong data-start=\"3261\" data-end=\"3280\">Nikos Hardalias<\/strong> emphasized that the Region\u2019s strategic goal is <strong data-start=\"3340\" data-end=\"3361\">balanced development<\/strong> and ensuring a minimum level of basic infrastructure for all citizens, particularly in areas that have lagged behind in development.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3502\" data-end=\"3768\">As he noted, it is unacceptable for densely populated areas to lack basic infrastructure, such as <strong data-start=\"3612\" data-end=\"3623\">water supply<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"3628\" data-end=\"3642\">sewerage<\/strong>, noting that these deficiencies are often linked to increased instances of <strong data-start=\"3721\" data-end=\"3740\">delinquency<\/strong> and social problems.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3770\" data-end=\"4058\">Referring specifically to <strong data-start=\"3794\" data-end=\"3807\">Peristeri<\/strong>, which he described as the second-largest city in Attica after Athens, he noted that it is a quintessentially <strong data-start=\"3929\" data-end=\"3946\">working-class neighborhood<\/strong>, where every euro invested by the Region translates into a tangible improvement in residents\u2019 daily lives.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4060\" data-end=\"4585\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">For his part, Mayor <strong data-start=\"4091\" data-end=\"4115\">Andreas Pahatouridis<\/strong> praised his collaboration with the regional governor, emphasizing that since their joint tenure in <strong data-start=\"4208\" data-end=\"4231\">Local Government<\/strong> since 2002, he has observed his consistency and effectiveness.
