In joint statements with the French<\/b> President, Emmanuel Macron<\/b>, the President of the United States, Donald Trump<\/b>, expressed optimism regarding the implementation of the agreement<\/b> with Iran<\/b>.<\/p>\n

Trump stated that the Strait of Hormuz have already been partially opened<\/b> and that they will be fully operational by Friday.<\/p>\n

Specifically, speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the G7 summit in Evian-les-Bains, France, alongside French President Emmanuel Macron, he stated that the contents of the agreement will be made public shortly after<\/b> the official signing ceremony scheduled for Friday.<\/p>\n

Of course, he warned that if Tehran does not remain faithful to its commitments, then \u201cwe will pick up where we left off\u201d<\/b>.<\/p>\n

Also, referring to the Strait of Hormuz<\/b>, he stressed that the mines must be cleared, a process estimated<\/b> to take up to 50 days.<\/p>\n

At the same time, Donald Trump<\/b> stated that the crossing will be toll-free<\/b>, noting that there had been disagreement on this point during the negotiations.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe crossing is free. We had a little disagreement about that<\/b>. There are no tolls, so I don\u2019t think<\/b> we\u2019ll need any special assistance,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

At the same time, he argued that it wouldn\u2019t be a bad idea for certain countries to maintain<\/b> a naval presence in the region for security reasons.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t think it\u2019s a bad idea to have one or two ships there, from a few countries. You would be an excellent country to do<\/b> that,\u201d he said, addressing Emmanuel Macron.<\/p>\n

The U.S. President finally expressed his conviction that navigation in the Strait will be fully restored<\/b>.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou never know what might happen, but I believe they will remain open and that shipping<\/b> will proceed freely,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

When asked if he plans to attend the signing ceremony on Friday, Donald Trump appeared uncertain, noting that it would depend on the circumstances<\/b>.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt will depend. JD (Vance) will be there \u2014 he was originally supposed to handle it<\/b>. I\u2019ll probably be gone by then,\u201d the U.S. President said.<\/p>\n

He added, however, that his schedule might be extended<\/b>, leaving open the possibility of his participation in the ceremony.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ll be staying for quite a while longer<\/b>, so I might get involved, or I might not,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The U.S. President reiterated that Iran will not acquire a nuclear weapon and that there will be a robust monitoring and verification mechanism<\/b> to ensure the agreement\u2019s implementation. He made it clear, however, that sanctions against Iran would not be lifted until Tehran fulfilled its obligations.<\/p>\n

Referring to U.S. allies, he said that he does not believe that special assistance<\/b> will be needed to implement the agreement, although he described their support as positive.<\/p>\n
