{"id":11041,"date":"2026-06-16T14:07:00","date_gmt":"2026-06-16T11:07:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.tomanifesto.gr\/?p=11041"},"modified":"2026-06-16T14:07:00","modified_gmt":"2026-06-16T11:07:00","slug":"margaritis-schinas-no-farmer-will-lose-their-subsidies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/en.tomanifesto.gr\/?p=11041","title":{"rendered":"Margaritis Schinas: No farmer will lose their subsidies"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b><\/b>Margaritis Schinas assured that no eligible farmer will lose subsidies, presenting the reform of payments with European support from Italy.<\/p>\n<p>The reform of the <strong>agricultural payments<\/strong> system and the transition to the new model through the AADE were the focus of the meeting between Minister of Rural Development and Food <strong>Margaritis Schinas<\/strong> and the Italian Minister of Agriculture <strong>Francesco Lollobrigida<\/strong>, who visited Athens accompanied by the management of the payment agency <strong>AGEA<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2>Schinas &#8211; Transparent and swift payments<\/h2>\n<p>Mr. <strong>Schinas<\/strong> described the restructuring of the <strong>agricultural aid<\/strong> as one of the most significant reforms in the primary sector, noting that for the first time this year, payments are being made through the new system.<\/p>\n<p>As he stated, the adaptation of the <strong>AADE<\/strong> to the requirements of agricultural subsidies is a complex but necessary process, aimed at creating a system that will operate with greater <strong>efficiency<\/strong>, <strong>speed<\/strong> and <strong>transparency<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, he sent a clear message to the agricultural community, emphasizing that <strong>\u201cno Greek farmer will lose what they are entitled to\u201d<\/strong>. As he emphasized, the transition to the new model does not affect the actual beneficiaries of the subsidies, while he added that only those who are not entitled to payments have cause for concern.<\/p>\n<h2>European support for OPEKEPE changes<\/h2>\n<p>The Italian Minister of Agriculture <strong>Francesco Lollobrigida<\/strong> expressed strong support for the Greek government\u2019s initiatives, noting that close cooperation between the two countries\u2019 payment agencies is already underway.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, the cooperation includes the exchange of <strong>expertise<\/strong>, information, and best practices, with the aim of ensuring a smooth transition to the new system.
