At the Summit of the G7 in Evian, leaders are discussing the U.S.-Iran agreement, the prospects for peace in Ukraine, and the potential role of Donald Trump as a mediator.<\/p>\n

The crisis in <\/b>Middle East and developments surrounding the Washington-Tehran Memorandum of Understanding-Tehran<\/strong> dominate the second day of the G7 Summit in Evian, France. The leaders of the world\u2019s seven strongest economies are discussing with U.S. President Donald Trump<\/strong> the details of the agreement which, according to Washington, paves the way for the end of the war<\/strong> between the US and Iran.<\/p>\n

The agreement with Iran and the Strait of Hormuz<\/h3>\n

French President Emmanuel Macron described the Memorandum as a \u201cvery important peace agreement,\u201d emphasizing that the international community<\/strong> is ready to contribute to its implementation and support. As he noted, the issue will be discussed in detail with the other G7 leaders.<\/p>\n

For his part, Donald Trump<\/strong> appeared cautious regarding the European proposal to assist in the reopening of the <\/b>, arguing that significant external assistance is not required. However, he left open the possibility of ships from allied countries participating in the operation to ensure safe navigation in the region.<\/p>\n

Initiatives for dialogue between Russia and Ukraine<\/h3>\n

At the center of the discussions is also the war in Ukraine<\/strong>, with the participation of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy<\/b>. Zelensky revealed that he proposed a face-to-face meeting with Vladimir Putin<\/strong> to seek a solution, a proposal that was rejected by Moscow.<\/p>\n

The U.S. president stated that he had recently held positive talks with both Zelensky and Putin, expressing his belief that there is room for mediation<\/strong> and a restart of peace efforts. As he said, once the crisis with Iran is resolved, Washington\u2019s attention will shift more toward the Ukrainian front.<\/p>\n

Volodymyr Zelenskyy<\/strong> reported that he discussed with Trump the possibility of a meeting with Putin in the United States<\/strong>, believing that in such a setting, the Russian president would find it more difficult to refuse to participate. At the same time, he warned that if Russia rejects this opportunity as well, further international pressure<\/strong> will be required.<\/p>\n
