Meeting of the President of the Parliament Nikitas Kaklamanis with the Hellenic Thoracic Society today at the Parliament, on prevention, spirometry, and public health.<\/p>\n

The Speaker of the Hellenic Parliament Nikitas Kaklamanis<\/strong> welcomed members of the Respiratory Disease Prevention Unit<\/strong> of the Hellenic Thoracic Society (HTS)<\/strong>, who conducted tests for spirometry<\/b> and awareness-raising activities for Parliament employees, following an initiative by the Parliament Employees’ Association<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The Charter on Respiratory Health<\/h2>\n

During the meeting, members of EPE<\/strong> briefed Mr. Kaklamanis on the Charter “5+1 Axes” <\/strong>, which was drafted to mark the 60th anniversary<\/strong> of the Society’s founding. The Speaker of the House signed the Charter on behalf of the Hellenic Parliament<\/strong>, supporting the effort to inform and raise public awareness regarding critical issues public health<\/strong> issues related to the respiratory system<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The \u201c5+1 pillars\u201d<\/strong> of the Charter focus on raising awareness among health stakeholders<\/strong>, on environment and respiratory health<\/strong>, on early diagnosis of lung cancer<\/strong>, to tobacco products<\/strong>, to vaccinations<\/strong> and obesity<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Message of Support for Prevention – Public Health<\/h2>\n

Mr. Kaklamanis<\/strong> congratulated the members of the Hellenic Thoracic Society<\/strong>, as well as the executive committee of the Parliamentary Employees\u2019 Association<\/strong>, for today\u2019s awareness campaign<\/strong>.
