In the tragic incident involving the death <\/b>of the 55-year-old nurse<\/b> at the Nafplio Hospital<\/b>, Health Minister,\u00a0Adonis Georgiadis<\/b>.<\/p>\n
Mr. Georgiadis <\/b>quoted a statement by the president of the hospital\u2019s Employees\u2019 Association, Vasilis Bavellas.<\/b><\/p>\n
According to Mr. Bavelas, the incident involving the nurse\u2019s cardiac arrest is not connected to the Roma and their relatives<\/b> who were at the hospital at that time.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe incident involving the death of our nurse and the Roma and their relatives who were causing a commotion are not related, as was reported yesterday. They were not aggressive, but they were shouting and crying because they had an 8-year-old child who was unconscious with them and they thought he had died. But he had not died<\/b>,\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n
The union president also noted that \u201cit is a fact that an emergency can put a nurse under pressure<\/b>,\u201d adding, however, that \u201cthe truth is that our nurse shouldn\u2019t have been in the ER at that time because we weren\u2019t on call yesterday<\/b>.\u201d<\/p>\n
In reposting the statement, the Minister of Health noted that he investigated the case and concluded that the child\u2019s relatives should not be held responsible.<\/b><\/p>\n
\u201cI investigated the incident, and the Roma who were there, anxious for their child, should not be blamed. This is not a case of violence against our employees<\/b>. Incidents of this nature have occurred, but not yesterday,\u201d wrote Mr. Georgiadis<\/b>.<\/p>\n
The minister concluded his post by expressing his condolences to the nurse\u2019s family<\/b>.<\/p>\n
