{"id":11077,"date":"2026-06-16T17:10:00","date_gmt":"2026-06-16T14:10:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.tomanifesto.gr\/?p=11077"},"modified":"2026-06-16T17:10:00","modified_gmt":"2026-06-16T14:10:00","slug":"nikos-tachiaos-on-the-voak-the-goal-is-to-complete-the-first-10-km-between-neapoli-and-agios-nikolaos-by-summer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/en.tomanifesto.gr\/?p=11077","title":{"rendered":"Nikos Tachiaos on the VOAK: The goal is to complete the first 10 km between Neapoli and Agios Nikolaos by summer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-path-to-node=\"0\">The first critical phase of the major <b>road<\/b> <b>project <\/b>of <b>Crete<\/b>, with work intensifying ahead of the tourist season.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"0\">Progress on the first 10 kilometers of the <b>BOAK<\/b> on the Neapoli\u2013Agios Nikolaos section and the effort to complete them by summer, <b data-path-to-node=\"0\" data-index-in-node=\"150\">the Deputy Minister Infrastructure and Transport, Nikos Tachiaos<\/b>, during a working meeting held today in the Region of Crete, attended by the Regional Governor, Stavros Arnaoutakis, and the Secretary General of Infrastructure, Dimitris Anagnostopoulos.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"1\">Mr. <b>Tachiaos <\/b>stated that delivering the first kilometers by summer is a major challenge, noting that <b data-path-to-node=\"1\" data-index-in-node=\"116\">for this reason, the projects are progressing at an intensive pace<\/b>, despite the difficulties posed by the peak tourist season.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"2\">In fact, Mr. <b>Tachiaos <\/b>highlighted the scope of the projects on the island, noting that <b data-path-to-node=\"2\" data-index-in-node=\"86\">\u201ca massive project is currently underway\u201d<\/b>, which concerns not only the BOAK but also road safety projects and accompanying infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"3\">\u201c<b>These are very large projects, projects that are being carried out, projects that are \u2018underway.\u2019 There will be some disruption on the island from time to time<\/b>. We cannot avoid this,\u201d the deputy minister said, noting that the fact that the BOAK <b data-path-to-node=\"3\" data-index-in-node=\"250\">\u201cis a project being carried out on a road that is currently in operation\u201d<\/b> makes it a particularly demanding project.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"4\">Mr. <b>Tachiaos <\/b>also made special mention of the inevitable\u2014as he emphasized\u2014impact of the construction work, asking for the public\u2019s understanding. \u201c<b>There will be some disruption.
