Following the expulsion of Pavlos Polakis <\/b>from the parliamentary group of SYRIZA, Socrates Famellos<\/b> took yet another step with a clear political message, announcing during today\u2019s meeting of the Parliamentary Group<\/b> the replacement of Nikos Pappas<\/b> from his position as the party\u2019s Parliamentary Spokesperson.<\/p>\n
At the same time, Nikos Zachariadis is parting ways with SYRIZA<\/b>, as he is stepping down as the party\u2019s press spokesperson through a consensual process. His position is being taken over by Christos Giannoulis.<\/b><\/p>\n
The position previously held by N. Pappas<\/b> is being taken over by Theophilos Xanthopoulos and Kostas Barkas<\/b>, in a decision that comes amid a period of intense internal party friction, as Nikos Pappas<\/b> has repeatedly expressed his disagreement<\/b>with the political choices and maneuvers of the president of SYRIZA<\/b>.<\/p>\n
His statements on \u201cParapolitika 90.1<\/b>,\u201d where, although he clarified that \u201cthere is no issue of censure<\/b> against Socrates Famellos,\u201d he made clear jabs at the party leadership<\/b>, emphasizing that \u201cthere is a great need for him to explain how he perceives his role from here on out.\u201d<\/p>\n
At the same time, he cited the recent statement by Alexis Tsipras<\/b>, who spoke of the \u201cclosure of SYRIZA\u2019s historical cycle,\u201d noting that this statement was made shortly after Sokratis Famellos\u2019s <\/b>position in favor of supporting <\/b>the Hellenic Police Force (EL.AS.)<\/b> \u201cNo one can pretend not to understand,\u201d he said pointedly.<\/p>\n
Nikos Pappas also expressed reservations about the specific party line<\/b>, arguing that SYRIZA\u2019s position on supporting the Hellenic Police has gaps <\/b>and does not appear to be feasible.
