{"id":11127,"date":"2026-06-16T20:28:00","date_gmt":"2026-06-16T17:28:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.tomanifesto.gr\/?p=11127"},"modified":"2026-06-16T20:28:00","modified_gmt":"2026-06-16T17:28:00","slug":"the-u-s-iran-agreement-will-be-signed-on-friday-in-burgstock-switzerland","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/en.tomanifesto.gr\/?p=11127","title":{"rendered":"The U.S.-Iran agreement will be signed on Friday in Burgstock, Switzerland"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In <strong>Burgstock,<\/strong> a mountain resort overlooking Lake Lucerne in <b>Switzerland<\/b>, the signing ceremony for the protocol of the <b>agreement <\/b>between <strong>the U.S. and Iran<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Swiss Ministry of Foreign Affairs, <b>the signing is scheduled for Friday, June 19<\/b>, at a location chosen for its security and remote access.<\/p>\n<p><b>Burgstock<\/b> was proposed by the <b>mediators from Qatar and Pakistan<\/b>, with the <b>approval<\/b> both <b>Washington<\/b> and <b>Tehran<\/b>.<\/p>\n<h3>Trump will send the agreement to Congress<\/h3>\n<p>A few days before the ceremony, <b>U.S. President Donald Trump<\/b> stated, on the sidelines of the G7 summit in Evian, that he intends <strong>to send the agreement to the U.S. Congress<\/strong>, responding to requests from Republican representatives and senators to review its contents. \u201cI hadn\u2019t thought about sending it to Congress, but I will send it. I like that idea,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The U.S. president also said he would release the full text of the agreement, which he has already signed electronically ahead of the official ceremony in Switzerland. \u201c<b>Not only will I release it, but I will definitely hold a press conference and read it to you word for word to make sure the press covers it correctly<\/b>,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Trump reiterated that the memorandum of understanding with Tehran clearly stipulates that <strong>Iran will not acquire nuclear weapons<\/strong>, while expressing optimism about the next phase of negotiations.<\/p>\n<p>During his meeting with the president of the United Arab Emirates, Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, he expressed confidence that the talks would move forward quickly.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<b>Iran wants this.
