Commenting on the moves made by the two political leaders, he noted characteristically: \u201c<b>Those drowning are grasping at straws, trying to say something populist<\/b>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"5\">Turning his <b>criticism personally toward Alexis Tsipras<\/b>, the Deputy Minister of Finance recalled the actions of the previous coalition government, emphasizing that the criticism being leveled today stands in stark contrast to the decisions made during the 2015\u20132019 period. \u201c<b>But is Tsipras really talking about a policy for young people, when he did nothing for this particular group while he was prime minister and when he raised ticket prices? We all have a past<\/b>,\u201d he pointed out, calling on the former prime minister to present a costed proposal.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"6\">Continuing his criticism, <b>Mr. Markopoulos focused on the opposition\u2019s announcements regarding the redistribution of burdens<\/b>, challenging Mr. <b>Tsipras<\/b> to explain why he did not implement his current ideas when he was in charge of public finances. \u201c<b>He must present his economic program to us in its entirety\u2014the famous \u2018tax on wealth.\u2019 Why didn\u2019t he do this when he was prime minister, to save Greece?<\/b>,\u201d he asked pointedly.<\/p>\n<figure>\n<div class=\"embed-responsive\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"el\" dir=\"ltr\">Markopoulos on Tsipras and Androulakis: \u201cPeople who are drowning are grasping at straws, trying to say something populist.
