Nor do they take into account that even if a segment of society has formed an opinion, it is ready to reconsider it once the dust settles and a truth emerges that differs from the one they had been convinced of. Yesterday we saw a very telling example.

Would anyone have expected, last year during the major rallies marking the anniversary of Tempi that parents or other citizens would turn en masse against Zoe Konstantopoulou? I don’t think so. These are times when we’ve been inundated with theories about xylol and the missing train cars, and from morning till night, every single political party repeats three words: cover-up, concealment, crime.

People and political parties, trolls and bots—they’re all repeating them. We’re living in a state of confusion. So-called experts describe to us exactly where the concrete slabs with the xylene were, Maria Karystianou is gaining enormous popularity, and while her public discourse is taking on increasingly clear political characteristics, no one dares even to point it out.

During the same period, Zoe Konstantopoulou is at the height of her political glory, denouncing them all. She prevents Parliament from functioning, speaks of crimes, and—capitalizing on the prevailing climate and the mistakes of other parties that make her a credible interlocutor—she positions herself in second place with 15%–16% in second place, surpassing PASOK.

A year later, none of this exists anymore. The experts have vanished, and Maria Karystianou has formed a party, and Zoe Konstantopoulou was attacked by parents inside the courtroom while she was speaking; we have stopped discussing cover-ups and obfuscation, even as the trial has begun. The parents themselves became frustrated while listening to a closing argument by Zoi Konstantopoulou that lasted over two hours, starting with the familiar theories and extending all the way to… OPEKEPE!

The majority of parents who had never been involved in the Parents’ Association couldn’t take it anymore. They felt that the loss of their loved ones was being brutally exploited and reacted, just as Zoe Konstantopoulou has lost at least 10% returning to more familiar patterns, with the movement’s two leaders now openly competing politically against each other, with some parents taking a stand against one and others no longer able to bear seeing the other exploit the loss of her own children. In public opinion as a whole, there is a different atmosphere.

It’s obvious. Anyone who strays, anyone who crosses any line, is punished. Even when citizens rise up, influenced by certain theories, they eventually reach a point where they rethink everything from the beginning and ultimately issue a red card to those who may have allowed them to play with reason. What Zoe Konstantopoulou endured yesterday in court was very powerful. Very powerful and very instructive. I get the sense, based on the social and political reality, that we’ll see many such lessons along the way until the elections.

Often, the country’s political life, party activity, and everything that is said and done show no reflection, no reasoning, no sense of …

[3

post-11404","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-politics
["GET
