{"id":11438,"date":"2026-06-18T10:50:00","date_gmt":"2026-06-18T07:50:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.tomanifesto.gr\/?p=11438"},"modified":"2026-06-18T10:50:00","modified_gmt":"2026-06-18T07:50:00","slug":"aris-portosalte-these-days-its-easier-to-switch-political-parties-than-to-change-your-underwear-video","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/en.tomanifesto.gr\/?p=11438","title":{"rendered":"Aris Portosalte: These days, it&#8217;s easier to switch political parties than to change your underwear (video)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-start=\"67\" data-end=\"215\">     Aris Portosalte compared the concept of defection to the present day, arguing that political shifts within political parties have become much easier. <\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"217\" data-end=\"268\">     <b>Portosalte: Defection Back Then &#8211; Political shifts today<\/b> <\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"270\" data-end=\"500\">     During the broadcast of <strong data-start=\"300\" data-end=\"312\">\u201cToday\u201d<\/strong> on <strong data-start=\"318\" data-end=\"326\">SKAI<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"330\" data-end=\"349\">Aris Portosalte<\/strong> referred to the historical concept of <strong data-start=\"386\" data-end=\"402\">\u2018defection\u2019<\/strong>, recalling the atmosphere that once surrounded the name of Konstantinos Mitsotakis. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"502\" data-end=\"723\">     \u201cWe, being <strong data-start=\"525\" data-end=\"540\">old-timers<\/strong> back then\u2014we kids used to say \u2018<strong data-start=\"563\" data-end=\"576\">treason<\/strong>, what did that <strong data-start=\"595\" data-end=\"609\">Mitsotakis<\/strong>\u2014our dad\u2014do?\u2019, they\u2019d all shout together, \u201c<strong data-start=\"643\" data-end=\"655\">nightmare<\/strong>,\u201d trouble, commotion, stories,\u201d the journalist recalled. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"725\" data-end=\"963\">     Comparing that period with today\u2019s political landscape, <strong data-start=\"792\" data-end=\"806\">Portosalte<\/strong> argued that changes in political stance and party affiliation are now much more frequent. \u201cThese days, it\u2019s easier to change <strong data-start=\"930\" data-end=\"939\">parties<\/strong> than your underwear,\u201d he remarked. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"965\" data-end=\"1202\">     <strong data-start=\"989\" data-end=\"1011\">Dimitris Oikonomou<\/strong> joined the discussion, adding that these days it\u2019s even easier to change <strong data-start=\"1077\" data-end=\"1087\">party leader<\/strong>. <strong data-start=\"1091\" data-end=\"1105\">Portosalte<\/strong> agreed, saying: \u201cOf course, I\u2019m not disputing that.
