On July 2, the trial of Dimitris Lignadis<\/b>, who is on trial in the appellate court for three cases of rape of minors.<\/p>\n
The court announced today that it rejects the request by the artist\u2019s defense team to apply the procedure provided for in the Code of Criminal Procedure regarding thevulnerable witnesses<\/b>, including the appointment of an expert psychologist or psychiatrist, etc., for the three victims in the case and the observance of the special procedure provided for.<\/p>\n
The proposal by the prosecutor of the Court was to grant the request and postpone the trial so that there would be time to implement the provisions regarding vulnerable witnesses.<\/b><\/p>\n
Following today\u2019s announcement that the motion had been denied, the court adjourned the session, and the trial will therefore resume on July 2, when the victims are expected to begin testifying.<\/b><\/p>\n
The former head of the National Theater<\/b> has been sentenced in the first instance to a 12-year suspended prison term for the rape of two 17-year-olds, in 2015 in Athens and Epidaurus.<\/p>\n
