From June 22 through June 24, 2026, Hellenic Train is modifying its schedules on the Athens \u2013 Thessaloniki route, with buses replacing part of the rail service due to infrastructure restoration projects by OSE.<\/p>\n
According to an announcement by Hellenic Train<\/strong>, the temporary changes are taking effect due to scheduled railway infrastructure restoration projects<\/strong> being carried out by OSE<\/strong> on the Leianokladi\u2013Larissa<\/strong> section. The works are part of the infrastructure restoration program for Thessaly<\/strong>, which suffered significant damage from the extreme weather events Daniel<\/strong> and Elias<\/strong>.<\/p>\n To serve passengers, the company will provide buses<\/strong> that will cover the Lianokladi \u2013 Thessaloniki<\/strong> route and vice versa, where the necessary transfers<\/strong> will take place.<\/p>\n For the Athens \u2013 Thessaloniki (IC50 and IC56)<\/strong>, trains will operate as scheduled to Lianokladi<\/strong>. From there, passengers will continue by bus<\/strong> to Thessaloniki<\/strong>, Platy<\/strong>, Katerini<\/strong>, and Paleofarsalo – Larissa<\/strong>.
