The message <\/b>that business ties between Greece and Turkey<\/b> are constantly strengthening and that companies in both countries now view one another as reliable partners<\/b>, said the ambassador of Turkey<\/b> to Greece, Tsagatay Erciyes<\/b>, during the official presentation of the 2nd Greek-Turkish Hackathon<\/b>.<\/p>\n
The Turkish diplomat recalled the success of last year\u2019s event<\/b> on the theme of \u201cSmart Cities\u201d<\/b>, emphasizing that it succeeded in bringing together young people <\/b>from both countries, who presented innovative <\/b>ideas and projects with significant potential.<\/p>\n
Thanking all those who contributed to the success of the first initiative, he noted that the positive results<\/b> served as a springboard for its continuation. As he mentioned, this year\u2019s event focuses on Artificial Intelligence,<\/b> a field that, as he said, is already shaping the future of economies, industries <\/b>and societies on a global scale.<\/p>\n
\u201cBy choosing Artificial Intelligence as the central theme, we are investing in the future <\/b>and empowering young innovators to actively participate in shaping it,\u201d he emphasized.<\/p>\n
Referring to economic relations between Greece and Turkey<\/b>, Mr. Erciyes noted that the volume of bilateral trade <\/b>reached $6.7 billion in 2025,<\/b> noting that the two countries are steadily moving toward the common goal of $10 billion <\/b>set by their leaders three years ago.<\/p>\n
At the same time, he emphasized that mutual trust <\/b>between the business communities<\/b> is constantly strengthening. As a prime example, he cited the acquisition of the Turkish company Tra\u00e7im <\/b>by the Greek company Titan Cement, <\/b>through an investment of $190 million, arguing that this agreement reflects the growing trust developing between the two sides.<\/p>\n
He even expressed the expectation that more opportunities will arise in the near future for Turkish investments<\/b> in Greece, as the climate of cooperation improves.<\/p>\n
The Turkish ambassador also emphasized the complementarity of the two economies<\/b>, noting that sectors such as construction, infrastructure, and energy <\/b>can serve as areas for developing new partnerships and investment initiatives to the benefit of both countries.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur economic relations must be based on mutual benefit, <\/b>trust, and constructive cooperation. The Hackathon embodies precisely this philosophy,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
