{"id":1174,"date":"2026-04-17T13:38:00","date_gmt":"2026-04-17T10:38:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.tomanifesto.gr\/?p=1174"},"modified":"2026-04-17T13:38:00","modified_gmt":"2026-04-17T10:38:00","slug":"municipality-of-peania-alzheimers-awareness-campaign-free-memory-test","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/en.tomanifesto.gr\/?p=1174","title":{"rendered":"Municipality of Peania: Alzheimer&#8217;s awareness campaign &#8211; Free memory test"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Municipality of Peania is joining the battle against Alzheimer&#8217;s by organizing, in cooperation with the NGO Apostion<\/b> Alzheimer&#8217;s unit of the NGO Mission<\/b>, information activities on the disease that afflicts a large part of the population.<\/p>\n<p>Alzheimer&#8217;s disease (AD) is <b>the most common type of dementia<\/b> in adults third age and is characterized by slow progressive cognitive and behavioral decline with a prominent feature of <b>mnemonic dysfunction,<\/b> which occurs early in the clinical course. Alzheimer&#8217;s disease accounts for 60% of all cases of dementia.<b>In our country it is estimated that there are over 150,000 people with some form of dementia.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Participants will be informed about the stages of disease while <b>those over 60 years of age will be given a free memory test.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The first information action will take place on <b>21 April 2026, at the KAPI Peania <\/b>(7A Vasilissis Frideriki in Peania) at 10.00.
