In a state of heightened alert<\/b>, Fire Department forces<\/b> were placed on standby this afternoon in Heraklion<\/b>, following the outbreak of a fire inside the \u201cSkouladis\u201d warehouses<\/b> in the Athanata area\u2014an incident that prompted an immediate response with fire trucks and firefighters<\/b> at the scene and led to the rapid extinguishment of the fire<\/b> before it could spread further through the facilities<\/b>. Initial reports indicate that property damage occurred<\/b>, while the Fire Department\u2019s Investigative Division<\/b> has already taken charge of investigating the causes, in an incident that occurred at a site which has recently<\/b> been at the center of discussions<\/b> due to plans to use it as a temporary detention facility migrants<\/b>.<\/p>\n
An operation by the Fire Department<\/b>, was launched earlier this afternoon in Heraklion<\/b>, following a fire that broke out at the \u201cSkouladis\u201d warehouses in the Athanata area<\/b>. <\/p>\nAt the scene, officers from the Fire Department\u2019s Investigative Unit<\/h3>\n
Three fire trucks with eight firefighters were immediately dispatched to the scene and managed to extinguish the flames that had broken out inside the warehouses, causing damage.<\/p>\n
