With Nikos Androulakis essentially remaining on the sidelines, although many say that what Yiannis Vardakastanis said was a message from the PASOK president himself <\/b>.<\/p>\n
Yiannis Vardakastanis<\/b>, in a radio interview, commented on the clash between the two top officials of PASOK<\/b>, noting that both had made ill-advised statements. Essentially, the party secretary rebuked them, calling for calm within the party.<\/p>\n
\u201cI had said when I was asked about Mr. Doukas<\/b>\u2019s first statement that it was an ill-advised statement, and I repeat that Ms. Diamantopoulou<\/b> because this statement reignites the debate, and in that sense it is an ill-advised statement even if its content contains some serious points that Mr. Doukas<\/b> might have had, but there are bodies within PASOK<\/b>. \u201cThey had the opportunity to express their positions within the Political Council,\u201d stated the secretary of PASOK<\/b>.<\/p>\nExpulsion of Party Officials<\/h3>\n
Most importantly, however, he did not rule out the possible expulsion of party officials in connection with the dispute between Doukas<\/b> – Diamantopoulou<\/b>. When asked about this, he claimed that such decisions are made by the president, essentially leaving the possibility open for the future.<\/p>\n
\u201cI cannot speak about matters that are not within my purview; my responsibility is to call on everyone to remain fully focused on our goals. Anything that strays from that focus is off-track,\u201d he emphasized, among other things.<\/p>\n
Apparently, Yannis Vardakastanis<\/b> publicly conveyed Nikos Androulakis\u2019s<\/b> message to the two top officials. However, the problem remains.<\/p>\n
The poll data for PASOK<\/b> is particularly negative, while no one knows what the party\u2019s strategy is for the future.
