The effort to achieve greater transparency in prices<\/strong> of everyday consumer products is now also taking place in the digital environment. <\/p>\n

The PosoKanei<\/strong> brings together data from major supermarket chains on a single platform,, allowing consumers to immediately see where it\u2019s most cost-effective to do their shopping. <\/p>\n

The public response was immediate; within the first few weeks of operation, more than 175,000 users<\/strong> searched for information on prices and products. <\/p>\n

What is PosoKanei and how does it work <\/h2>\n

The PosoKanei<\/strong> is a digital tool for searching and comparing prices of consumer goods. Through the platform, citizens can compare prices by retail chain, track price changes, and plan their shopping. <\/p>\n

This service is available free of charge via the website posokanei.gov.gr<\/strong>, as well as through apps for Android and iOS devices. <\/p>\n

It is important to note that this is not an online store, and purchases are not made through the app, as its role is purely informational. <\/p>\n

Thousands of products in a single database <\/h2>\n

Today, the platform includes approximately 10,000 product codes<\/strong>, including both brand-name and private-label items. <\/p>\n

    The largest category is food, with more than 4,800 SKUs<\/strong>, while the products are divided into a total of 36 subcategories<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

    Searches can be performed either by product name or via barcode<\/strong>. In mobile apps, users can scan the barcode directly. <\/p>\n

      One of the platform\u2019s most useful features is the ability to create personal shopping lists. <\/p>\n

      Each user can create up to five different lists<\/strong>, adding up to 50 products<\/strong> to each and specifying specific quantities. <\/p>\n

      The system automatically calculates the total cost of the shopping cart per chain, allowing for a real comparison before visiting the store. <\/p>\n

      The \u201cFind Me a Cheaper Price\u201d feature <\/h2>\n

      PosoKanei also features the \u201cFind Me Cheaper”<\/strong>, which suggests more affordable alternatives within the same product category. <\/p>\n

      This way, consumers can explore different solutions and reduce the total cost of their purchases without a time-consuming search. <\/p>\n

      Price tracking and international comparisons <\/h2>\n

      The platform also provides access to two-month price history<\/strong>, allowing users to determine whether an offer is truly a good deal or if a product\u2019s price is within the usual range. <\/p>\n

      At the same time, where data is available, prices from European markets are also displayed, such as: <\/p>\n

        The Minister of Digital Governance and Artificial Intelligence, Dimitris Papastergiou<\/strong>, notes: \u201cPosoKanei is a prime example of how technology provides real solutions to real problems. And accuracy is one of the most important aspects\u201d<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

        According to him, the platform is based on modern cloud infrastructure and is constantly being updated, and was developed by a Greek startup based in Ptolemaida.
