The search for Stavroula Leventaki<\/strong>, as the 45-year-old was found dead in a rural area outside Chania. <\/p>\n

According to reports, her 43-year-old tenant, originally from North Macedonia<\/strong>, admitted to police that killed the woman and then transported and buried her body in a field located about five kilometers away from the house. <\/p>\n

He indicated the exact location to the authorities, who conducted a search and located the body of the unfortunate woman. <\/p>\n

Reports indicate that the 43-year-old broke down during the nighttime interrogation, after being questioned for several hours by officers from the Hellenic Police. <\/p>\n

Shortly thereafter, police proceeded to recover the body in the presence of the 45-year-old woman\u2019s brother. <\/p>\n

What he reportedly said about the crime <\/h2>\n

According to initial reports, the confessed perpetrator reportedly claimed that a heated argument with Stavroula Leventaki<\/strong> over issues related to the house. <\/p>\n

During his testimony, he reportedly stated that he stabbed her<\/b> during the argument. <\/p>\n

At the same time, police authorities are investigating other possible motives. Among these is the possibility that there was a sexual element<\/strong> to the case. <\/p>\n

It should be noted that on Saturday, the 43-year-old was taken to the Chania Courthouse under tight security. There, he faced felony charges related to a drug case, while denying any involvement in the woman\u2019s disappearance. <\/p>\n

The evidence that placed him at the center of the investigation <\/h2>\n

The police had turned their attention early on to the 45-year-old woman\u2019s tenant. <\/p>\n

A key factor was that he was the last person the woman had met before she went missing. At the same time, witness statements, the constant contradictions in his explanations, and his subsequent disappearance reinforced the suspicions. <\/p>\n

His initial statement failed to convince the authorities. This was followed by further statements and thorough searches of the home where he was staying. <\/p>\n

The authorities also found inconsistencies regarding his last meeting with the woman. He claimed that it took place on May 29. However, witness statements and evidence indicated that the meeting occurred on Saturday, May 30, at approximately 4:45 p.m. <\/p>\n

A few minutes later, around 5:00 p.m., the cell phone of Stavroula Leventaki<\/strong> was turned off. At the same time, her last activity on social media was recorded. <\/p>\n

Furthermore, video footage from a neighboring residence reportedly shows the woman entering the 43-year-old\u2019s home, with no record of her leaving. <\/p>\n

Although he claimed that he did not leave the house that day, the police recorded his movements to and from the residence. <\/p>\n

The bloodstains that \u201cgave away\u201d the crime <\/h2>\n

The laboratory analysis of biological material found in the 43-year-old\u2019s home also proved decisive. <\/p>\n

According to the results, bloodstains found inside the residence belonged to Stavroula Leventaki<\/strong>. Traces had initially been detected on a television in the living room. <\/p>\n

At the same time, investigators also found other traces resembling blood both in the house and in his car, in places where there were signs of a hasty cleanup. <\/p>\n
