There is great frustration within the campaign team of Alexis Tsipras<\/b> regarding Sokratis Famellos<\/b> and his actions within SYRIZA<\/b>.<\/p>\n
Although Alexis Tsipras <\/b>may have been plotting the dissolution of SYRIZA<\/b> for the past three years, he could not have imagined what is happening now. At Amalias, they believe things will soon spiral out of control.<\/p>\n
Alexis Tsipras<\/b> personally blames Sokratis Famellos<\/b> for the way he has been handling the breakup of SYRIZA<\/b> in recent days. The purges of party officials, the Polakis<\/b>\u2013Pappas<\/b> and Dourou<\/b>, the erratic moves within the party\u2019s leadership, and the unclear message to the Hellenic Police have caused frustration.<\/p>\n
In fact, the disappointment within Alexis Tsipras\u2019s inner circle is such that they believe Socrates Famellos<\/b>and SYRIZA<\/b> are currently doing them harm, as everyone remembers what Koumoundourou stands for and everyone associates the chaos with the Hellenic Police<\/b> as well. In short, they believe that in the eyes of the public, SYRIZA<\/b> and ELAS<\/b> are one and the same, and that whatever is happening at Koumoundourou is also a burden for the former prime minister\u2019s new party.<\/p>\n
In fact, they\u2019ve started making excuses, saying that\u2026 the reason the polls cap them at 15\u201316% it\u2019s the fault of Socrates Famellos<\/b> and the fact that he was unable to control the situation within SYRIZA<\/b>. And the worst is yet to come.<\/p>\n
If the Polakis<\/b>\u2013Pappas<\/b> – Dourou<\/b> faction carries out its threats to oust Socrates Famellos<\/b>, calls for a party convention, and perhaps even legal action to keep the party open\u2014they believe that the image of ELAS<\/b> will be irreparably damaged. As explained by an ELAS<\/b> official\u2014who, of course, was once a member of SYRIZA<\/b>\u2014 the problems at Koumoundourou also appear to be problems of Alexis Tsipras<\/b>, and this is deterring a significant percentage of people from embracing the new party.<\/p>\n
Regardless of whether Socrates Famellos <\/b>has made a mess of SYRIZA<\/b> and regardless of what reactions may follow, all of this amounts to nothing more than excuses. Because at ELAS<\/b>, they refuse to admit that the party\u2019s ceiling, at best, is SYRIZA<\/b>\u2019s vote share in the 2023 national elections.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
