The minister emphasized that \u201ccontemporary Greek culture fruitfully nourishes our country\u2019s international reputation. It is a key vehicle for the qualitative enhancement of our tourism offerings. Hosting the exhibition in Syros underscores the island\u2019s true character and identity. The exhibition, presented by the Antonios E. Komninos Foundation in collaboration with the Municipality of Syros – Ermoupoli and curated by art theorist and critic Takis Mavrotas, features representative works by Theodoros Papagiannis<\/b>, highlighting aspects of his body of work and artistic journey. The exhibition will run through July 26, 2026<\/b>.<\/p>\n
In her opening remarks, the minister referred to the renowned sculptor\u2019s significant contribution to contemporary Greek art, noting that his work combines a deep knowledge of ancient Greek sculpture with a constant search for new forms of expression.<\/p>\n

\u201cSyros is one of the most striking examples of the integration of culture with gentle and sustainable tourism development, and is a strategic objective of the Ministry of Tourism<\/i>,\u201d she noted.<\/p>\n
Subsequently, Ms. Kefalogianni<\/b> attended the unveiling of the bronze bust of Hermes, a work commissioned and donated by Mr. Theodoros Papagiannis, which was offered as a tribute to the 200th anniversary of the founding of Ermoupoli<\/b>. As the minister noted, this donation enriches Syros with a work of high artistic value, which will serve as a landmark, reminding visitors of the place\u2019s timeless identity and history.<\/p>\n
During her stay on Syros, the Minister of Tourism<\/b> held a meeting with the Mayor of Syros – of Ermoupoli, Alexis Athanasiou, and representatives of local organizations to discuss issues related to the island\u2019s tourism development, infrastructure, and prospects for further improving the quality of tourism offerings.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
