Alexis Tsipras\u2019s former advisor, Nikos Karanikas<\/strong>, in an extensive social media post, argues that a new \u201ctype of person\u201d<\/strong> has formed around the former prime minister, which he compares to the vassals<\/strong> and subjects<\/strong> of the feudal era. <\/p>\n According to him, these are people who view Alexis Tsipras as a \u201cbenefactor\u201d<\/strong> and believe they have no right to criticize him politically. As he notes, this mindset harks back to earlier times, when people believed they owed absolute loyalty to their master, adopting the logic that \u201cyou don\u2019t bite the hand that feeds you.\u201d <\/p>\n Nikos Karanikas, on his Facebook account, argues that the officials supporting Alexis Tsipras are not bothered by neoliberalism<\/strong>, the person-centered nature<\/strong> of the political project, the demagoguery<\/strong>, the absence of a program<\/strong>, and the political shifts that, in his view, have taken place in recent years. <\/p>\n At the same time, he refers to a \u201cprivate party\u201d<\/strong>, which, he argues, revolves around the figure of the former prime minister and runs counter to the principles of the Left<\/strong> and democracy<\/strong>. According to him, those who continue to support him have fully accepted this transformation, with the sole aim of returning to power<\/strong>. <\/p>\n Mr. Karanikas also refers to allegations that have been made from time to time regarding the period of SYRIZA-ANEL<\/strong> administration, citing publicly stated reports by Kostas Vaxevanis<\/strong> regarding corruption, as well as the allegations made by Stefanos Kasselakis regarding \u201cslush funds,\u201d as well as the resignation of Stavros Kontonis<\/strong>, which he links to changes in the Penal Code. <\/p>\n Furthermore, he argues that these same circles did not react to what he describes as Alexis Tsipras\u2019s involvement in a \u201ccoup\u201d against Stefanos Kasselakis, nor to the loss of the Left\u2019s so-called \u201cmoral high ground\u201d<\/strong>. <\/p>\n In his post, Nikos Karanikas also takes aim at individuals who support Alexis Tsipras\u2019s new political venture, referring to \u201ccourt academics\u201d<\/strong>. As he notes, without this collective journey, the former prime minister would have remained a political unknown. <\/p>\n In conclusion, Nikos Karanikas argues that since 2019, Alexis Tsipras has been surrounded by people who act as flatterers<\/strong>, a fact that distances him from reality and leads him, as he states, from one political defeat<\/strong> to another.
