With its sights set on the next major European challenges<\/b>, Greek diplomacy is stepping up its planning through a series of high-level meetings in Brussels<\/b>. The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs responsible for European Affairs, Tassos Hatzivassiliou<\/b>, is traveling to the seat of the European institutions, where he will hold meetings with top European Union officials<\/b>, representatives of the European Parliament<\/b> and officials from the Greek delegation, with the aim of coordinating positions and promoting Greek priorities<\/b> ahead of assuming the Presidency of the Council of the EU<\/b> in the second half of 2027<\/b>.<\/p>\n
The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, responsible for European Affairs, Tassos Hatzivassiliou<\/b>, is departing today, Monday, June 22, 2026, for a two-day visit to Brussels<\/b>, in order to hold a series of meetings on current issues<\/b>, as well as to prepare the country to assume the Presidency of the Council of the European Union<\/b> in the second half of 2027<\/b>.<\/p>\nThe schedule <\/h3>\n
Specifically, Mr. Hatzivassiliou will meet with Greek Members of the European Parliament on Monday, June 22. On Tuesday, June 23, he will meet with the European Commissioner for Sustainable Transport and Tourism, Apostolos Tzitzikostas, as well as the Commissioner for Budget, Anti-Fraud and Public Administration, Piotr Serafin.<\/p>\n
In addition, he will meet with the Director-General for General and Institutional Policy (GIP) of the General Secretariat of the Council of the European Union, Didier Seeuws.<\/p>\n
