{"id":12319,"date":"2026-06-23T09:07:00","date_gmt":"2026-06-23T06:07:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.tomanifesto.gr\/?p=12319"},"modified":"2026-06-23T09:07:00","modified_gmt":"2026-06-23T06:07:00","slug":"zacharias-zoupis-the-next-election-is-heading-toward-faction-based-politics-video","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/en.tomanifesto.gr\/?p=12319","title":{"rendered":"Zacharias Zoupis: The Next Election Is Heading Toward \u201cFaction-Based Politics\u201d (video)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-start=\"52\" data-end=\"184\">     Zacharias Zoupis believes that the upcoming elections may lead to a fragmented political landscape and political realignments. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"186\" data-end=\"469\">     The <strong data-start=\"188\" data-end=\"226\">research director at OpinionPoll<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"228\" data-end=\"247\">Zacharias Zoupis<\/strong>, speaking on the program <strong data-start=\"271\" data-end=\"291\">\u201cThe Next Day\u201d<\/strong> on <strong data-start=\"296\" data-end=\"308\">Action24<\/strong>, argued that the political landscape is entering a period of intense upheaval, which may lead to a new balance of power by the next <strong data-start=\"457\" data-end=\"468\">elections<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<h2 data-section-id=\"18g58z6\" data-start=\"471\" data-end=\"517\">     Realignments and two key players <\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"519\" data-end=\"862\">     Mr. <strong data-start=\"524\" data-end=\"534\">Zoupis<\/strong> noted that this is the first time the phenomenon has been observed, with at least <b>five <\/b>parties have rejected any discussion of cooperation from the outset, essentially choosing to move forward with the goal of <strong data-start=\"734\" data-end=\"749\">a majority government<\/strong>. As he noted, barring any <strong data-start=\"785\" data-end=\"797\">unforeseen events<\/strong>, the prospect of elections in <strong data-start=\"825\" data-end=\"835\">spring<\/strong> makes political sense. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"864\" data-end=\"1219\">     At the same time, he assessed that the time remaining until the election may reinforce the central <strong data-start=\"958\" data-end=\"969\">dilemma<\/strong> of the election, particularly in light of Greece\u2019s assumption of the <b>presidency of the <\/b>European Union by Greece. However, he emphasized that this period will not only serve to exacerbate polarization but will also serve as a arena for significant <strong data-start=\"1191\" data-end=\"1218\">political realignments<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1221\" data-end=\"1618\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">     According to his analysis, the country may find itself facing conditions of <strong data-start=\"1301\" data-end=\"1325\">\u201cfragmented political landscape\u201d<\/strong>, with <strong data-start=\"1330\" data-end=\"1360\">two main players<\/strong> dominating the political arena.
