Italy<\/a> declares readiness to deploy naval units to the Sea Strait of Hormuz<\/b>, enhancing navigation and international security<\/b> operations.<\/p>\n
In a critical geopolitical environment with heightened tensions in the sea lanes<\/b> and ongoing international efforts to ensure stability<\/b> in the wider Middle East<\/b> region, Italy<\/b> is moving forward with a clear signal to strengthen its naval presence. Following the Paris Summit, the government of Rome, through statements by Georgia Meloni<\/b>, appears ready to actively contribute by sending naval units to operational zones of high importance<\/b>, such as the Sea of Hormuz<\/b>, as part of international missions to protect freedom of navigation<\/b> and support regional security<\/b>.<\/p>\n
The Italian Prime Minister Georgia Meloni<\/b>, after the conclusion of the Paris Summit<\/b>, said that “her country is prepared to offer its naval units<\/b> after obtaining the necessary permission of parliament<\/b>, as provided for in the rules of the Constitution<\/b>“.<\/p>\nCommitment to Free Navigation<\/h3>\n
“This is a commitment which is a continuation of the work we have already offered in support of free navigation. I recall the European operations ASPIDES and ATALANTA. In particular, the ASPIDES naval operation (which is characterised by a significant presence in an area near the Straits of Hormuz) I believe can be a valuable experience for what we are trying to do now,” the Italian Prime Minister added.<\/p>\n
“We will do everything possible to help and reinforce the ceasefire in Lebanon – which is invaluable and was also achieved with the mediation of the United States – as well as the prospect of a resumption of negotiations. This objective, of course, requires an effort that extends to many areas: diplomatic, security and humanitarian, if we consider the sailors stranded in the Gulf and the countries on which the crisis is having a direct impact. In all these areas, Italy is ready to do its part,” concluded the head of the Rome government.<\/p>\n
