Tension <\/b>prevailed during the meeting<\/b> of the Political Secretariat<\/b> of SYRIZA<\/b>, between Sokratis Famellos<\/b>, Nikos Pappas<\/b> and Pavlos Polakis<\/b>.<\/p>\n
Mr. Polakis <\/b>announced in statements made as he was leaving the meeting of the Political Secretariat that he would submit signatures to reconvene the Central Committee of SYRIZA-PS<\/b>.<\/p>\n
He also said: \u201cUnfortunately, the strategic impasse<\/b> of the policy currently being pursued\u2014based on the decision of the Central Committee\u2014 the president of SYRIZA regarding the progressive realignment of the political spectrum and the course of SYRIZA. I believe that the only solution is to reconvene the Central Committee and reverse the decision we made. There is no other solution for the political spectrum. Because it is not possible when the Greek Left Alliance<\/b> has issued a strategic statement\u2014and that is their right\u2014which states that we do not cooperate with political parties<\/b>, we do not cooperate with members of parliament, etc., we speak only with individuals, with public figures who come without the burden of their official positions, we must insist on this<\/b>. I said very clearly to President Socrates Famellos, \u201cDid you speak officially with Alexis Tsipras to have him confirm whether he is cooperating or not?\u201d We cannot allow this situation of discredit, self-humiliation, and disintegration to drag on\u2014it\u2019s unacceptable that they\u2019ve brought us down this low. \u201cTherefore, there must be a Central Committee meeting, and the decision must be reversed.\u201d<\/b>.<\/p>\nPappas Takes Swipes at Famellos<\/h3>\n
According to reports, Nikos Pappas<\/b> made clear criticisms of the party chairman\u2019s proposal, arguing that no answers were provided to the key questions raised following the Central Committee\u2019s decision regarding Alexis Tsipras\u2019s ELAS<\/b>.\u00a0\u201cWe haven\u2019t heard anything about a roadmap<\/b>,\u201d he reportedly said, summarizing the criticism leveled by the internal opposition against the leadership.<\/p>\n
Nikos Pappas<\/b> reportedly also addressed the party\u2019s standing in the polls, implying that the leadership has failed to conduct the necessary political assessment.\u00a0According to the same sources, he described the notion that \u201cwe are on the right track\u201d<\/b> as disappointing, emphasizing that the data reflected in the polls require a different approach.<\/p>\n
