As part of the tours<\/b> of the New Democracy<\/b> in the Peloponnese, two delegations led by the Minister of Tourism<\/b> Olga Kefalogianni<\/b> and the Deputy Minister Climate Crisis and Civil Protection<\/b> Kostas Katsafados<\/b>, respectively, conducted visits <\/b>to Tripoli<\/b>. <\/p>\n

The delegations included the President of the Arcadia Regional Committee of New Democracy, Valia Mavraidopoulou, and local party officials. <\/p>\n

In the first delegation, Ms. Kefalogianni met with Peloponnese Regional Governor Dimitris Ptochos<\/b> and they held a press conference, on the occasion of the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Ministry of Tourism and the Peloponnese Region<\/b>, which marked a decisive step toward the establishment and operation of the Destination Management and Promotion Organization \u201cVisit Peloponnese<\/b>.\u201d <\/p>\n

The Minister of Tourism highlighted the development prospects of the Peloponnese Region in the tourism sector<\/b>, while adding that this is a unique opportunity to further enhance the international appeal and competitiveness of the destinations, based on targeted studies that lead to a coherent strategy for their promotion and management, harnessing the region\u2019s full potential for sustainable tourism development. <\/p>\n

He also met with the President and members of the Arcadia Regional Development Council<\/b>, where a substantive and constructive discussion took place on current political and organizational issues.<\/p>\n

Concluding her visit, Ms. Kefalogianni <\/b>stated: \u201cI visited Tripoli to hold a press conference with Regional Governor Dimitris Ptochos on the topic of high-quality and sustainable tourism development in the Peloponnese. During my stay there, I had the opportunity to meet with the Chair and members of the New Democracy Regional Executive Committee of Arcadia for a substantive and constructive discussion. New Democracy is the country\u2019s major center-right party, which guarantees stability, security, and a vision for the future<\/b>. It is the force that keeps the country standing in difficult circumstances and provides real solutions with a clear plan and tangible results. We remain steadfastly committed to our work, with the goal of a Greece that moves forward, with growth and trust in its citizens.\u201d <\/p>\n

As part of the second delegation, Mr. Katsafados<\/b> first visited the 9th Special Forest Operations Unit (EMODE)<\/b>, where he was briefed on the unit\u2019s operational work and its contribution to combating forest fires in the Peloponnese. He also visited the Tripoli Fire Department<\/b>, where he met with Fire Department officials and staff to discuss operational readiness, needs, and the improvement of operational conditions. <\/p>\n

Mr. Katsafados<\/b> also met with Peloponnese Regional Governor Dimitris Ptochos<\/b>, with whom he exchanged views on issues of Civil Protection<\/b>, the need to restore critical infrastructure, and addressing the consequences of severe weather events. <\/p>\n

Concluding his visit <\/b>, Mr. Katsafados <\/b>stated: \u201cToday\u2019s visit and the meetings we are holding are neither a formal institutional procedure nor a fleeting presence in the region. They are part of a consistent policy choice based on ongoing contact with local communities, identifying their real needs, and seeking substantive solutions to the problems they face<\/b>. These regions, like many others across the country, have been confronted with recurring and severe weather events. Our approach is clear: we listen to the voice of local communities, identify their real needs, and respond with concrete actions. This is the essence of our presence: constant engagement with the community, consistency in fulfilling our commitments, and the political will to translate citizens\u2019 experiences into concrete actions and projects<\/b>.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
