Green light for a massive defense package for NATO<\/b> which is expected to reshape the Alliance\u2019s decisions <\/b>at the Summit<\/b> and decisively strengthen its military power, as announced by Mark Rutte<\/b>. <\/p>\n
At a time of intense geopolitical realignments<\/b> and increased defense demands on member states, NATO<\/b> is embarking on one of the largest operational and industrial mobilizations in recent years<\/b>, with Secretary General Mark Rutte<\/b> signaling from the the U.S. the imminent announcement of a mammoth defense package<\/b> that reflects the Alliance\u2019s shift toward strengthening its production capacity<\/b>, interoperability and the faster conversion of financial resources<\/b> into military capabilities, in light of the critical Summit<\/b> and under the weight of the ongoing tension in the international security<\/b> system.<\/p>\n
New defense contracts worth tens of billions of dollars<\/b> will be announced at the upcoming NATO summit<\/b> announced Mark Rutte from Washington <\/b>.<\/p>\nThe stance<\/h3>\n
Speaking at the Atlantic Council on Thursday, the NATO Secretary General reiterated that member states are stepping up efforts to boost their military production and collective defense capabilities.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe will announce new contracts worth tens of billions of dollars,\u201d he said, adding that defense industries across the Alliance are ramping up production to meet the increased demand.<\/p>\n
At the same time, he stated that at the summit to be held in Ankara in early July, the Alliance will reaffirm its commitment to supporting Ukraine, and Volodymyr Zelenskyy is even expected to attend.<\/p>\n
\u201cPresident Zelenskyy will be with us in Ankara,\u201d he said. \u201cWe look forward to showing both him and all Ukrainians that our support remains steadfast and enduring, while reminding the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, that we will not back down.\u201d<\/p>\n
At the same time, he emphasized that NATO allies must more effectively convert their economic strength into real military capabilities, at a time of growing international security challenges. \u201cWe must ensure that we convert our economic power into military capabilities,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n
According to him, this requires addressing the fragmentation of national defense industries on both sides of the Atlantic, reducing bureaucracy in the United States, and keeping innovation at the heart of the Alliance\u2019s strategy.<\/p>\n
