In a briefing to Congress <\/b>of the U.S. that his administration would proceed with the sale of KAAN <\/b>engines to Turkey Donald Trump<\/b>. <\/p>\n

The deal will amount to 700 million euros<\/b> and takes on particular significance in light of Trump\u2019s visit to Turkey<\/b> for the summit of NATO<\/b>.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe government of the U.S. <\/b>is prepared to authorize the export of these products, having taken into account the political, military, and economic parameters, as well as human rights concerns and arms control,\u201d as notably highlighted in the relevant document from the U.S. Department of State<\/b> to Congress<\/b>.<\/p>\n

The U.S. Congress<\/b> has the right to block the sale within 15 days,<\/b> but a majority vote is required in both chambers (House of Representatives, Senate), while Trump retains the right to veto.<\/p>\n

Turkey\u2019s requests regarding the KAAN and the F-35s<\/h3>\n

Donald Trump<\/b> had previously announced that he was planning something that \u201cwill make them very happy\u201d referring to Turkey\u2019s requests for the sale of engines for the KAAN<\/b>, as well as for the supply of F-35<\/b>. Due to the purchase of Russian <\/b>S-400 missiles,<\/b> Turkey <\/b>was excluded from the F-35 program<\/b>.<\/p>\n

Democrats React<\/h3>\n

The Democrats <\/b>are reacting to the sale of engines that will be installed in the Turkish-built KAAN fighter jets,<\/b> given that Turkey <\/b>retains the S-400s.<\/p>\n
