The commitment that \u201cAdrianos will be in space within the next two years\u201d<\/b> was made by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis during the discussion held as part of the event organized by the Ministry of Digital Governance and Artificial Intelligence, at the \u201cHellenic Cosmos\u201d Cultural Center.<\/p>\n

Over the next two years, the first mission of a Greek astronaut <\/h3>\n

Yesterday, a meeting was held <\/b>chaired by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis regarding the first mission of a Greek astronaut to the International Space Station. Plans were reviewed for the historic first mission of a Greek astronaut to the International Space Station<\/b>, following the official start of astronaut training at the European Space Agency<\/b> by Adrianos Golemis.<\/b> <\/p>\n

The launch is expected to take place within the next two years, and the mission will last up to three weeks, as part of the new National Space Strategy, which has a horizon of 2035.<\/b> <\/p>\n

During the meeting, participants discussed the significant benefits this will bring to the domestic scientific community<\/b> the decision to send our country\u2019s first representative to the ISS crew. The Greek astronaut will conduct experiments and technology demonstrations proposed by dozens of Greek research teams, institutions, and universities; Greek companies will have the opportunity to present innovative solutions under space conditions; valuable data will be collected for use in applications and further research, while at the same time there is an opportunity to develop valuable partnerships with international partners.<\/b> <\/p>\n

In addition to strengthening Greek research and promoting Greek technologies, programs will be implemented to encourage young people to engage with the sciences and their practical applications.<\/b> Among other things, the organization of a student competition<\/b> for building a satellite, the organization of STEM competitions, and the submission of questions from students to astronauts serving on the ISS. <\/p>\n
