Traffic was light today for tankers<\/strong> in the Strait of Hormuz<\/strong>, just hours after an attack on a ship operated by the Taiwanese Evergreen Marine<\/strong>, according to ship-tracking data.<\/p>\n The International Maritime Organization (IMO)<\/strong> has temporarily suspended the operation to evacuate hundreds of ships and thousands of seafarers from the Persian Gulf<\/strong>, following damage sustained by a vessel in the strait off the coast of Oman<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Despite the growing concern, at least four tankers<\/strong>, of which three<\/strong> were very large crude carriers (VLCCs) with a capacity of up to 2 million barrels<\/strong> each, entered the Gulf to load oil<\/strong>, according to data from LSEG<\/strong> and MarineTraffic<\/strong>.<\/p>\n At the same time, two more supertankers<\/strong> passed through the Strait to pick up Iranian oil<\/b>, while another tanker left the area carrying approximately 2 million barrels<\/strong>, according to an analysis by Kpler<\/strong>.<\/p>\n oil buyers<\/strong> are seeking to replenish their stocks following months of turmoil caused by the war with Iran<\/strong>, taking advantage of the ceasefire agreement<\/strong> between Washington<\/strong> and Tehran<\/strong>. Meanwhile, crude oil prices<\/strong> fell by more than 3%<\/strong> and are heading toward significant weekly losses.<\/p>\n Before the conflict began, an average of Strait of Hormuz<\/strong>, an average of 125 ships per day<\/strong> passed through.
