{"id":13027,"date":"2026-06-26T14:28:00","date_gmt":"2026-06-26T11:28:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.tomanifesto.gr\/?p=13027"},"modified":"2026-06-26T14:28:00","modified_gmt":"2026-06-26T11:28:00","slug":"alexis-tsipras-willing-to-do-anything-to-stay-in-power","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/en.tomanifesto.gr\/?p=13027","title":{"rendered":"Alexis Tsipras: willing to do anything to stay in power"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It seems that <b>Alexis Tsipras<\/b>, declaring his goal to be <b>\u201cpolitical change and a change in policy.\u201d<\/b><\/p>\n<p>\u201c<b>We want to\u2014and will do\u2014everything in our power to ensure that the Coalition can bring about political change and a change in policy.<\/b> \u201cThrough collective effort, camaraderie, and dedication, without ever distancing ourselves from the people we seek to represent,\u201d said Alexis Tsipras during the first meeting with the sector heads of <b>ELAS<\/b> today, the anniversary of the announcement of the referendum of 2015.<\/p>\n<p>It attempted once again to claim the supposedly pure intentions of its project for the future of the country, shifting from the <b>\u201cmoral high ground\u201d of Left of SYRIZA to a \u201cnew ethics of politics\u201d<\/b>, which he characterized as \u201canother example of political participation and action.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The former prime minister\u2014the one who, among other things, is also burdened with anti-democratic practices in the internal workings of his former party, <b>SYRIZA<\/b>, not to mention the \u201ckolotoumba\u201d of the referendum\u2014said that \u201cwe want to set, as a political movement but also as individuals, another example of political participation and action.\u201d\u00a0What the new party is seeking is \u201c<b>a new kind of party participation today and exercise of power tomorrow, which will challenge in practice and in the clearest possible way the stereotype that everyone is the same\u201d<\/b>, to build \u201ca different relationship between citizens and politics,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>In this vein, he asserted that \u201c<b>but we want to set, both as a political movement and as individuals, a different example of political participation and action<\/b>. I would call it a new ethics of politics.
