{"id":13139,"date":"2026-06-27T09:21:00","date_gmt":"2026-06-27T06:21:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.tomanifesto.gr\/?p=13139"},"modified":"2026-06-27T09:21:00","modified_gmt":"2026-06-27T06:21:00","slug":"2026-national-college-entrance-exams-what-the-initial-data-show-for-medical-engineering-and-law-schools","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/en.tomanifesto.gr\/?p=13139","title":{"rendered":"2026 National College Entrance Exams: What the Initial Data Show for Medical, Engineering, and Law Schools"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-start=\"1497\" data-end=\"1728\">     Following the release of the <strong data-start=\"1523\" data-end=\"1570\">scores from the Panhellenic Exams 2026<\/strong> and the statistical data from the Ministry of Education, the first estimates have begun regarding the trend of <strong data-start=\"1682\" data-end=\"1702\">admission cutoff scores<\/strong> at public universities. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1730\" data-end=\"2010\">     A total of <strong data-start=\"1766\" data-end=\"1786\">89,032 candidates<\/strong> took the exams, vying for one of the <strong data-start=\"1821\" data-end=\"1849\">68,788 available spots<\/strong> for the 2026\u20132027 academic year. Of these, <strong data-start=\"1899\" data-end=\"1909\">75,109<\/strong> come from <strong data-start=\"1929\" data-end=\"1952\">General High Schools (GEL)<\/strong>, and <strong data-start=\"1960\" data-end=\"1970\">13,923<\/strong> from <strong data-start=\"1978\" data-end=\"2009\">Vocational High Schools (EPAL)<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<h2 data-section-id=\"7pdi32\" data-start=\"2200\" data-end=\"2255\">     <strong data-start=\"2203\" data-end=\"2255\">How Are the Minimum Admission Scores Determined<\/strong> <\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"2257\" data-end=\"2408\">     Based on the data released by the <strong data-start=\"2295\" data-end=\"2317\">Ministry of Education<\/strong>, the initial estimates for the <strong data-start=\"2348\" data-end=\"2384\">Minimum Admission Scores (MAS)<\/strong> are as follows: <\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"2410\" data-end=\"2734\">\n<li data-section-id=\"1lw8lul\" data-start=\"2410\" data-end=\"2493\"><strong data-start=\"2412\" data-end=\"2467\">1st Academic Field (Humanities): 8.91<\/strong>, compared to <strong data-start=\"2476\" data-end=\"2484\">9.04<\/strong> in 2025.<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"eku91n\" data-start=\"2494\" data-end=\"2571\"><strong data-start=\"2496\" data-end=\"2546\">2nd Academic Field (Natural Sciences): 10.48<\/strong>, compared to <strong data-start=\"2555\" data-end=\"2563\">9.82<\/strong> last year.<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"17mbnex\" data-start=\"2572\" data-end=\"2645\"><strong data-start=\"2574\" data-end=\"2622\">3rd Academic Field (Health Sciences): 9.84<\/strong>, up from <strong data-start=\"2628\" data-end=\"2636\">9.60<\/strong> in 2025.<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1yb1xgh\" data-start=\"2646\" data-end=\"2734\"><strong data-start=\"2648\" data-end=\"2709\">4th Academic Field (Economics and Information Technology): 8.25<\/strong>, compared to <strong data-start=\"2718\" data-end=\"2726\">8.40<\/strong> last year.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"2736\" data-end=\"2889\">     It should be noted that the <strong data-start=\"2756\" data-end=\"2763\">EBE<\/strong> is the minimum admission threshold and is calculated as <strong data-start=\"2821\" data-end=\"2861\">80% of the average performance of candidates<\/strong> in each academic field. <\/p>\n<h2 data-section-id=\"imu5gi\" data-start=\"2891\" data-end=\"2946\">     <strong data-start=\"2894\" data-end=\"2946\">Where are admission thresholds expected to rise and where to fall<\/strong> <\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"2948\" data-end=\"3195\">     Regarding the trend of <strong data-start=\"2967\" data-end=\"2987\">admission cutoffs<\/strong>, it is estimated that the <strong data-start=\"3028\" data-end=\"3034\">1st<\/strong> and the <strong data-start=\"3042\" data-end=\"3067\">4th academic fields<\/strong> will show a downward trend, as candidates\u2019 overall performance was lower compared to the previous year. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3197\" data-end=\"3270\">     In contrast, in the <strong data-start=\"3211\" data-end=\"3217\">2nd<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"3226\" data-end=\"3251\">3rd academic fields<\/strong>, an increase is expected. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3272\" data-end=\"3583\">     <strong data-start=\"3273\" data-end=\"3557\">This increase stems from the fact that the number of students receiving top grades on the 18\u201320 scale has tripled. Last year, 10% of candidates fell within this range; this year, 30% do, with the Physics exam effectively raising the cutoff scores in both scientific fields.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3585\" data-end=\"3714\">     For <strong data-start=\"3593\" data-end=\"3612\">medical schools<\/strong>, it is estimated that the increase will be limited and will range from approximately <strong data-start=\"3692\" data-end=\"3713\">200 to 250 points<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3716\" data-end=\"3946\">     As for the <strong data-start=\"3731\" data-end=\"3742\">Positive Sciences<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"3751\" data-end=\"3774\">Polytechnic Schools<\/strong>, the admission thresholds will rise, a development that is expected to lead to more unfilled spots due to the implementation of the <strong data-start=\"3916\" data-end=\"3945\">Minimum Admission Threshold<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3948\" data-end=\"4125\">     <strong data-start=\"3949\" data-end=\"3981\">The rise in admission scores <\/strong>will also result in <strong data-start=\"4034\" data-end=\"4123\">the most unfilled spots in the field, as a side effect of the Minimum Admission Score.<\/strong> <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4127\" data-end=\"4246\">Public universities, meanwhile, may record <strong data-start=\"4205\" data-end=\"4245\">more than 10,000 unfilled spots<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4248\" data-end=\"4530\">     At the same time, applicants can already calculate their <strong data-start=\"4314\" data-end=\"4323\">scores<\/strong> using the special online application of the <strong data-start=\"4373\" data-end=\"4396\">Ministry of Education<\/strong>, by entering their written exam scores to automatically view the points they have accumulated for each department within their academic field. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4532\" data-end=\"4674\">     The next step is the process of submitting the <strong data-start=\"4580\" data-end=\"4606\">Computerized Application Form<\/strong>, for which relevant announcements from the ministry are expected. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4676\" data-end=\"4914\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">     Please also note that applicants must create a <strong data-start=\"4738\" data-end=\"4768\">personal security code<\/strong> in order to submit <strong data-start=\"4795\" data-end=\"4819\">Computerized Application Form<\/strong> or <strong data-start=\"4822\" data-end=\"4856\">Parallel Computerized Application Form<\/strong>.
