The epicenter was located off the coast of <strong data-start=\"1602\" data-end=\"1611\">Iwate Prefecture<\/strong>, while the focal depth was estimated at <strong data-start=\"1651\" data-end=\"1668\">40 kilometers<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<h2 data-section-id=\"4r27au\" data-start=\"1671\" data-end=\"1706\">     It was felt over a wide area <\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1708\" data-end=\"1957\">     The <strong data-start=\"1710\" data-end=\"1721\">earthquake<\/strong> was felt across a large area of northern <strong data-start=\"1766\" data-end=\"1778\">Japan<\/strong>, causing concern among residents.
