A fire<\/b> broke out at a hotel in downtown Athens <\/b>earlier on Sunday afternoon. <\/p>\n

The hotel on Omonia Square was open at the time the fire broke out, and a large contingent of firefighters arrived on the scene to battle the blaze. <\/p>\n

Specifically, at noon on Sunday, June 28, a fire broke out on the eighth floor of the Alma Hotel on Dorou Street in central Athens. <\/p>\n

Firefighters rushed to the scene. Specifically, seven fire trucks with 25 firefighters, as well as a ladder truck, were deployed. <\/p>\n

The fire was eventually extinguished, and guests are being evacuated from the upper floors via the stairwell. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Initial reports on the causes <\/h3>\n

According to initial reports, the fire initially broke out in an electric scooter that was charging. <\/p>\n

At least one person was injured in the fire, suffering burns. <\/p>\n
