Vladimir Kyriakidis<\/strong> plays Argan<\/strong>, the legendary hero of Moli\u00e8re<\/strong>, in the summer tour of the play \u201cThe Imaginary Invalid\u201d<\/strong>, directed and adapted by at the theater by Thanasis Papathanassiou<\/strong> and Michalis Reppas<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

This is one of the most recognizable works in world drama, which has left its mark even on everyday language, as its title has been used for decades to describe people who worry excessively about their health. <\/p>\n

With his familiar satirical style, Moli\u00e8re<\/strong> sheds light on human anguish in the face of illness and the fear of death. Argan<\/strong>, convinced that he is constantly suffering from serious illnesses, becomes trapped in his obsessions, giving rise to a series of hilarious yet biting situations through which the author comments on human weaknesses. <\/p>\n

The role of Argan is considered one of the most demanding in classical theater, and Vladimir Kyriakidis<\/strong> is called upon to put his own interpretive stamp on a character who has made history. <\/p>\n

Joining him are Sofia Vogiatzaki<\/strong> as Argan\u2019s wife, Parthena Chorozidou<\/strong> as the quick-witted maid, Panos Stathakopoulos<\/strong> as the doctor seeking a marriage of convenience, Ioannis Apergis<\/strong> as the young Kleanthis, Thanos Birkos<\/strong> as the prospective groom, and Antigone Naka<\/strong> as the protagonist\u2019s daughter. <\/p>\n

Thanasis Papathanassiou<\/strong> and Michalis Reppas<\/strong>, who are responsible for both the adaptation and the direction, point out that their goal was to approach the play with respect for the original, without contrived interventions or modern interpretations. As they explain, they aim to create a performance based on joy, spontaneous laughter, and the essence of classical comedy, offering the audience an experience of entertainment and lightheartedness. <\/p>\n
