Today I requested Theodora Tzakri\u2019s resignation from her position as Vice President of the Democrats and the European Democratic Party. <\/p>\n
I am grateful for Theodora\u2019s support since the SYRIZA primary process in 2023 and ever since. <\/p>\n
The Democrats are entering a new phase, defining their political space in the liberal center of practical politics, with the values of solidarity, equality, and humanism at our core. Only this political proposal can bring about real progress. <\/p>\n
There is no room on this path for personal ambitions or anachronistic notions of political survival. On this path, all members and leaders of the Democrats unite with altruism and idealism, but also with professionalism and realism. <\/p>\n
We are Democrats for our ideas, not for power. We are not career politicians. We are active citizens with experience in the workforce, the marketplace, academia, and civil society\u2014and we are united to contribute to the radical renewal our country needs. <\/p>\n
